This was a sweet racing series back in the day. The main gimmick was you could punch people off their motorbikes, so even if you lose, you'll still have lots of fun. Who wants it?

I would like to see the game on the Virtual Console, but there is a problem. The Road Rash series is owned by EA Sports, an non-supporter of the Wii. It's release is questionable.

A new version would be nice, although the series sort of went down the tubes in its last installments.

I lost many nights of sleep borrowing these games, all the way up to the PS1 version. I remember that one had an awesome soundtrack for the time.

Interestingly, I just sold the N64 version. I didn't like the game very much.

Correction: EA is a non-supporter of Virtual Console, not the Wii itself. They've released a number of games on the Wii. But who knows, they might start supporting Virtual Console at some point here. Who would have thought Lucas Arts would be releasing on games on VC just a month ago? And now look...

I assume you mean Road Rash 3D (released in 1998) and not Jailbreak (1999).

Which means you're not talking about a playstation game at all!
Road Rash 3D is actually a port of the 3DO's Road Rash, released in 1994.
It's easily the best game of the series, and the soundtrack is great too - it has several Soundgarden songs, a Monster Magnet song, and... others (that are also good).

This game actually makes you excited when shopping for new bikes, too.

That version was terrible, the Genesis versions where great though.

Sad... That E.A won't support Wii. Road Rash was a great game! but if they were to release the series then they couldn't pass up Desert Strike. I Miss that game.

If E.A are reading this then come on guys...

I have fond memories of the 2nd and 3rd games - especially the upgrade aspect. I've got some ofbthe music on my iPod too - UK (#1 fave), Japan, Italy and Tenessee.

I can't remember under which circumstances I played them (either I owned them, played them at someones house or borrowed them from a friend, but I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in playing them again on their Wiis.

Just watch EA release them on PSN or the Xbox equivalent (and not the wii)

We need to get 3DO added to the virtual console imo. And get that Road Rash.

I would love to see Road Rash on the VC, it was one of my favourite games on the Mega Drive, so much fun. Actually the Bike racing on Wii Sports Resort kind of reminds me of Road Rash so I was thinking of it recently. You know the way you start of in 30th place and have to work your way up. The main difference is you can't punch your competitors. lol

I even thought of buying the PSP so I could buy get EA classics, which has Road Rash on it. But that would mean buying a PSP, which I don't particulary want, with my DS and all. So basically if they brought Road Rash to the VC I would be very happy. Please EA!!!!!!

I'm all over it. I played the original one on a friend's Genesis and it was a lot of fun. I got Jailbreak for the GBA, but it didn't have the same charm. I really don't get why EA seems to be making a real effort on the Wii, but EA isn't breaking out the stuff for VC.

My favorite Road Rash games were Road Rash 3 (Genesis) and Road Rash for CD systems(PS1, Saturn, and PC). The PS1/ Saturn version had the killer grunge soundtrack and the funny FMV clips. It was one of the few games where the FMV really added some charm to the game.

@ NotEnoughGolds - Completely agree with you. The 3DO version was supreme. My father and I sent endless hours playing it. Awesome soundtrack. Back when Soundgarden took over my hi-fi

Would make a great compilation disk, can't understand why its not on VC, would be pretty much guaranteed a spot on the top 20 VC games list, maybe even all 3 appearing on the list.

It is indeed a good series on the MegaDrive, the Road Rash games. To be quite frankly honest, I thought the Road Rash trilogy (and a couple other games) were the only games worth playing and replaying on EA Replay for the PSP. It would be nice to see them hit the VC someday. Where else can you have the privilege to hit the cop with the club and get out of trouble as fast as you can?
