Topic: Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

I was browsing the media section of the site today and found a wallpaper of this game that was announced back when we were awaiting the "Revolution". i remember being SO pumped for this game because it looks awesome. i agree it may not have turned out as cool as we all thought it would due to the wiimote not being as sensitive as everyone had hoped... but with motionplus out now... what's stopping Ninty from finally putting this thing out? or has the idea just been completely scrapped? i would hate that, cause it looks so sweet, and i'd LOVE to see that powerhouse in the next Smash Bros...

What was the gameplay like for this anyway? It's been cancelled, sorry. And it seems only to be a tech demo to show what the Wii could do. And because it was "Project" in the title. But I do agree with you on the Super Smash Bros. thing. He would be bad@$$.

It was not canceled yet. It probably will be, but it is currently on hold.

No, but it was never officially canceled. I don't think it will happen, but there is still a very small chance that it will.

i hope so. i remember seeing this as the coolest thing, and the "hardcore" game that was going to actually make the Wii (Revolution at the time) challenge Sony's God of War and Microsoft's Halo.

It wasn't a tech demo. It was supposed to be a game. Its currently on hold like RWP said.

I hope this does see the light of day. Although I'm not buying it unless it comes with a giant hammer attachment.Boy I'd have great fun swinging that about in my living room . I really liked the look of it when it was first shown, probably too much of a gamble for Nintendo to release it.

@Terra: me too. i'd do it in a heartbeat, even if it accomplishes nothing but let them know that there's ONE person who still cares about the game.

Just got the Email. Dervin Camden (what's with the name? is it a Nintenbot?) said that Nintendo no longer plans to release Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Woah is us.

It is still a possibility. Your email was sent to NOA right? They denied the DSi before it was released. I can't trust them anymore.

I though H.A.M.M.E.R. was cancelled (apparently on hold) but with Wii MotionPlus being out there, it can be a very good game. Some possibility that it may see the light of day sometime.... just not now, I assume.

Do you mean before it was announced? if so, then you got a good point. But the game has been 4 years old now, and there's been no hint at it still being in production. So, for good measure and reasons, I'm just gonna call this one canceled.

well, that's a first-class disappointment. i'm dying for a new AAA franchise from Ninty...

Well, people thought the same thing about Crystal Bearers. It was announced back in 2006, maybe even 2005, and there was no word of it for a long time. People assumed that it was no longer coming. But now it is coming this year. I don't think it is coming either, still, there is still a chance.

It's on 'long term hold.' Which means that all of Nintendo has forgotten about it except one aspiring work experience kid who's locked himself in a cupboard with it until he either finishes it or he starves to death.

It's basically the same way Miyamoto became famous.

you, know, i think there is a pretty good sized chance it could make it out, maybe not now, or even in this decade, maybe in ten years when some other nintendo system is released, BOOM, it will pop right back at us better than it ever would have been on the wii. i'm just saying, this sounds like a big project, and i doubt nintendo would just dump it forever.
