Good deal. I got it for $50 at launch and it felt like a fair price. $30 is a bargain given how much replayability this game has.

Yep, this is a great price. Hopefully it'll introduce the game to a few others who were hesitant to give it a run. Thanks, BS.

I'll listen to your opinion when your avatar isn't a Coldplay album cover

Umm, Kid_A, that is a picure of mars. I don't even know what coldplay is.

Ah. Well it's also the album cover to Coldplay's album Parachutes. Coldplay is, actually, the biggest rock band in the world. Kind of surprising you don't know who they are--but I don't blame you if you've tried to block them out.

I'll take it for $0.50 and Kid_A can stick it.

@Kid_A don't try to act like you're "too cool for mainstream music" by liking Radiohead. If you had any intelligence you would know that's Mars, and you would also know that Parachutes has a picture of a spinning orange globe, not Mars. In either case, Radiohead is a good band, Coldplay is a good band, and Wii Music is a good game. So, as DAaaMan64 said, "Kid_A can stick it."

Let's play nice; I'd hate to have to lock this thread due to a little flamewar over a rock band.

I'm actually a really big Coldplay fan. In fact I saw them in concert this past summer. I just bash on 'em a lot
And I don't think I'm "too cool for the mainstream". I like some mainstream stuff. And Wii Music is actually my second favorite Wii game, so I'm sorry for the misconception. I was just trying to make a lame Coldplay joke and it went horribly wrong.

that's cool. I'm going to blame my attitude on it being 4 in the morning at the time I wrote that reply and leave it at that.

I've got kicked out of Gamespot for doing the same thing, so I hear ya on that one. Let's just put this behind us.

And as regards to the actual topic, I really hope that the price drop boosts sales because I'd love to see a sequel. It's a really under-rated game. If you're into stuff like Scribblenauts and LittleBigPlanet or Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts--games that really challenge your creativity--then you'd adore this game.

I actually was disappointed by this game. I went into it expecting more selection of songs. not just stuff like jingle bells, and I wanted the conducting part of the game to be much bigger. As a musician I thought this game was going to be amazing, but I didn't like what I saw. I thought it was really fun, but it wore off because of the bad selection of music. It deserves a price cut. $30 is a good price for it.

This game sucked. It's a prime example of Nintendo's current mission to innovate but not enough to be ground breaking.

Wii Music could've been amazing if they had more Nintendo songs and an editor....Which would've made sense since this is a bit of an educational program. But, they have some classic songs and some other no one cares about and thinks it's worth 60 bucks when games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band do the exact same thing but a million times better.

Philip_J_Reed

That's your mistake, though, hardy. This isn't trying to do the same things Guitar Hero and Rock Band do. And it DOES have an editor. Every jam session is a real-time, layer-by-layer editor!

I can understand if you dislike it, but to say that GH and RB "do the exact same thing" really does suggest that you either didn't approach this release with the appropriate mindset, or you didn't explore it fully.

Regarding grenworth's comment: I definitely wish the conducting section was a bit more expansive. And I had an initial negative reaction to the limited song list, but that disappeared entirely once I became comfortable composing my own material. Now I don't even bother playing the actual songs at all, so the size of the list is much less important.

Yep, listen to Chicken Brutus on this one. Wii Music is NOT meant to be Nintendo's version of Guitar Hero or Rock Band. This is a creative tool. Like Chicken said, every song is a layer by layer, real time song editor. Once you grasp the basics of the game, you'll learn techniques on how to create your own songs by using existing songs as templates (which is why the "limited" track list doesn't really matter). This is music composition game. Once you understand that, and really explore the game and see all that it has to offer, I think you'll really enjoy it.

I would only accept that game under the threat of anal rape... Still wouldn't pay for it though...
