With the awesome reviews Ogrebattle 64 has gotten I really want an idea of how it compares to FFT.
I know the game play style is a bit different, but what I'm curious about here is in the quality of: Story (as it's affected by the player's decisions, as well as how it stands by itself) Game Mechanics Depth (character classes, items/equipment, and player choice influence) Challenge (how much does this thing get you to think about what your doing, and what you might do vs. how much is a grind.)
I just started playing for the same time. If you enjoyed Final Fantasy Tactics you'll enjoy Ogre Battle 64. Battles are simpler though and I haven't quite grasped the deeper part of the mechanics yet but I'm quite enjoying it. I don't think your choices affect the story.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
Tactics Advance was mind numbingly easy though, and laws were terrible, and then there were a bunch of aggravating missable things.
A2 fixed those things though, the difficulty is still somewhat easy though, even on hard since the AI is dumb, but it's decently tough at the start since enemies have access to useful abilities before you.
