I'd say they're both equally fun. Couldn't rank one over the other--as far as multiplayer, that is. As far as single player goes NSMBWii tops pretty much everything the Wii has to offer (except for the other great first-party Nintendo games)

New SMB Wii is a great single player game with a very good multiplayer component and lots of Mario fan service. Brawl is a great multiplayer game with an average single player component and heaps of Nintendo fan service. I guess which one is better depends on if you want a single player game, a multiplayer game or fan service.
