Exactly. Nintendo didn't make the game, they just let it be made. Same goes for shovelware made for the Wii. Don't blame them if the game sucks.

CDi games don't count. Nintendo couldn't stop them if they tried due to a legal dispute. Plus the CDi games were not made for a Nintendo system. It's not the same thing.

Who gives a flying shmuck what anyone thinks about their gaming habits? I couldn't care less what people think as long as I'm enjoying the experience. There are lots of games I'd consider absolute pants, but they're easy to ignore by simply overlooking them. Besides, someone may get some fun out of them somewhere. Somehow.

How are websites killing off the Wii exactly? It may be surprising to learn, but most people on the planet don't base their opinions upon what is said at websites (thankfully). If it bothers you so much I suggest not frequenting sites that feature a heavy anti-Wii tone (that's what I do; thankfully there's Nintendo Life!).

It's true what Sean says, stay away from those negative sites (and there are many) that seem to spawn the most depressing, disrespectful people in the universe. The internet is a funny thing, it seems to provoke the worst in some folk. It's taken me a while personally to find a couple of decent forums to use where even multi-format users can coexist peacefully. Honestly, it can happen!

Be happy with your purchase, mate. I think the Wii has the most fun and diverse games catalogue on the market. Some will disagree, but that's their choice. Don't feel insecure about your preferences.

Why should we care, if you are that insecure? Buy whatever you like, whatever you enjoy, sheeesh....internet group think or whatever you are describing, peer pressure, is ridiculous...

Also the Phillipps CDi thing, Nintendo backed out on supporting the console but phillips had the rights to Nintendo game properties and made their own games, lol, a classic failure on Nintendo's part. Or it was something like that. Nintendo had originaly signed a deal with Sony, but then signed another with phillips when they realised they screwed themselves by letting Sony have all the money for the cd rom part of the console - it also played SNES carts. So Nintendo would have lost licensing fees big time - (back on that again,it all comes around). The deal with Sony was supposed to be exclusive, but Nintendo wiggled out, signed anohter deal with phillips (multimedia, like always was supposed to be huge and amounted to squat, as always) and then turned their back on Phillips in short order as well and obvioulsy developed the N64 on their own. And Sony was going to flat out give up on their game console without Nintendo games behind it, but some in the company were able to push for it, thjey developed the PS and the rest is history. You have to give them credit for developing the PS from scratch, it did take some doing, and led to the eventual demise of SEGA.....

I bet Miyamoto was pretty upset about the CDi, it would be like me getting the rights to make an official Mario game.....

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

Websites are killing off the Wii? I couldn't notice from the sales numbers of the hardware and software of the Wii. Everyone on those websites are just upset that the Wii is not like the 360 or PS3. It's like comparing bananas to pineapples, they are not the same!

And why you are listening to them? 90% of videogame websites are like drunken sorority boys. why are you going to listen to them? Enjoy your console, your games and stop paying attention to those losers.

The CD-i wasn't a failure, people. It wasn't a console, either, but a multimedia system, and it's main focus wasn't video games. Also, the Mario and Zelda games weren't made by Philips either.

Jesus Christ, try researching things before making claims. The CD-i was a very viable and cost-effective alternative to a modern computer at it's time, and was very successful until the internet became commonplace and made computers a much more attractive option again. The internet is the reason for the CD-i's demise, not "lol Zelda was the worst game ever", and it did very well up to that point.

Didn't it help drive VCD adoption in parts of the world?

Yes, the CD-i was the primary VCD player in Europe. Stand-alone VCD players were only really popular in Japan, and they never got the CD-i.
