I am really really sick of going into Gamestop and then seeing good Wii games....stuck under-neath Shoval-Ware or should i say Absoulty QUALITY games according to Nintendos Approval.._

Just someone please...tell me why the Wii blooody has...not even N64 standard games on it?...seriously...im sick of my mates making fun of me cuz i own the Wii and they own Ps3's and 360's(oh yeah..i cannot wait for my 360 this xmas!!^^)

Indeed.

I hate standing there in front of a wall of ****, looking desperately for the good Wii games I KNOW exist. But, they're not there. Me and my Horse (or whatever its called) is starting to look tempting.

And WiiWare... Ha!

I thought the seal ment that it was a working copy..

This lesbian bar doesent have a fire exit!

The seal means that it was approved to be made by Nintendo. The seal does not necessarily reflect the quality.

Quality means they're guaranteed to work. I know they're bad, but many publishers want to cash in on the Wii's popularity. Nintendo doesn't have much to do with those games other than giving permission to have them made. If anything, the publishers should get the heat for funding those crappy games.

What?....Of course they're gonna work....so if one game doesn't work why in gods name would they even ship it?....what are they gonna do?...ship a game that doesn't work and NOT put the Seal of quality on it?

No Nintendo and The Dev's should get everything...Nintendo gave them the pass and thats that.

I understand you're mad at the number of bad games, but the publishers are the one in charge of making sure the games are good. If you are referring to games Nintendo has made, then it's Nintendo's fault. You must be in Europe, because in America the seal only says "Official Nintendo Seal" and then there's a guarantee that the game will work.

Great, another Nintendo fan that knows nothing about Nintendo.

I'm almost positive the Nintendo Seal of Quality can be conveniently researched on Google.

Oh brother.

What about personal resposibilty?

Already been explained to you what it is for, good luck with your complaint. Maybe the govt should institute a minimum standard eh?

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

All it means is that these aren't like those Bible games on the (s?)nes or those pr0n games. Back then, it was really easy to make games for Ninty consoles without getting Ninty's permission and all kinds of evil things proliferated that burned depraved images into the minds of unwary buyers. The Seal of Quality just guarantees that you won't be scarred for life.

Do you honestly want Ninty to restrict what games can be published for their system based on whether some of their japanese businessmen think it's a good game? You want even more censorship? You really want MS, Sony, and Ninty to decide what games they'll allow on their system based on such ambiguous criteria as whether they think it's "good"?

It was not easy to make games for NES - there was a lockout chip that was need for the game to function, which was stolen and reproduced, and when Nintendo sued the company that did it, they won, and the rest is history..

Nintendo invented and succesfuly defended the legality of game licensing. That was a LANDMARK case in console gaming, the most important ever. MS and Sony would not have ever take the razor/ razor blades strategy to their extreme without the revenue generated from game licensing. Ironically, it blew up oin their faces this gen, more so for Sony, they have lost and continue to lose major money. But game licensing made the idea of selling an expensive machine like the PS3 for well under the cost of producing it theooreticaly possible. Assuming you can get a large enough game buying base to make up the difference.....

If you make money off of both hardware and software and have 2 huge boons like the DS and Wii as Nintendo has, you make an absolute killing, their revenue is quite amazing.....

No problem. I know there are many bad games out there, but I just pretend they don't exist and focus on the good games instead.

By the same logic, Nintendo should get the heat for the CD-i games, even though they didn't make them.

@Sean007s: Plenty of good games for the Wii exist. You just haven't heard of them.

@Blue_Protoman: Nintendo had nothing to do with the CD-i games, other than a failed legal dispute and project to make cd-based games. Philips made the games on their (failure of a) system.
