Ha, you're fed up. Don't even get me started.

Ya but you're used to being treated poorly so it's not as bad for you.

Too true, but it doesn't make it any less painful when you (I) are looking to buy a new Wii. I shall quote google again shall I... 199.99 U.S. dollars = 123.313602 British pounds. That's nearly 60 squid less ffs!

And V, you are a pun-cannon of late, ha!

You could say I'm on a roll.

(Oh, that's just awful.)

Wonder if it wouldn't work out cheaper just to put wii sports & resort on a single disk, like with Metroid Prime Trilogy, since I'm guessing the recent consoles shouldn't have a problem with those disks, and if there is any spare room add wii play, that would be a great starter disk.

I get what you're saying about not sponsoring a company's losing endeavour, but for my part, I follow that strategy only when I percieve that the company is doing so at its own peril and won't be around to support or enhance the product should volume sales actually occur. This is clearly not the case with Sony and Microsoft, who are using their consoles as loss leaders for software and accessory sales, and marketshare. In these cases, my motto would be something like "if they're willing to leave money on the table, I'm willing to take it." They'll live.

Just to be clear, I agree that they'll live, and that's the problem: I don't want to support that kind of strategy, which I do believe has a terribly detrimental effect on competition in the tech arena, because it puts companies whose gaming divisions can be subsidized by other areas at a huge advantage. Sony could only afford to do what it did with the PS3 (even at $600 it was a loss!) because they were effectively subsidizing those losses by winning the format war for Blu-Ray, something that would lead to greater profits in other areas of the company unrelated to gaming. I find that highly problematic; I'd actually prefer that these companies be forced to split off their gaming divisions as independent entities, so that they have to fairly compete to turn a profit within that arena without just winning due to the ability to run into the red longer than any competitor. It's not just a matter of selling the console low to then recoup through peripherals and games, it's also running deep into the negative for a very long time without their gaming division being anywhere near profitable for years even when you take all these other gaming-related sales into account.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

I understand what you're saying warioswoods. It's the very same argument I have against... well I'll keep my mouth shut, lest this become a political discussion.

I actually don't understand the problem. It's not like Sony was undercutting anyone's prices.

They're leveraging their success/dominance in one arena to undercut their competition in another arena. This is what initially led to the antitrust laws here in the US. It's a fine line Sony is walking here, but I feel they're on the safe side if it, as the lines of business we're talking about here are each in the consumer electronics market.

Ha! Yeah let's leave that further debate off while we're being civil, although I'm pretty certain I know what you're thinking, and it's initials are PO, but it ain't the post office.

Except they weren't undercutting anyone. They had the most expensive console with the lowest sales. Hard to fault them for not competing fairly when they were barely in the competition.

Yeah, it was pretty much a fail, good point. But that's not really the point, no? If someone takes a shot at the President and misses... well, you get what I'm sayin'.

I think I will buy a second Wii just for my SSBB needs!
