I'd be very very surprised if The Beeb haven't locked it down. If you were curious as to whether it was possible, you could experiment with your pc/router. If you got iPlayer working on there (without software), then in theory your Wii could be tricked in a similar manner.
It's for UK viewers only, having been financed by the TV license, which only UK viewers pay. So.. a) I wouldn't suggest it, and.. b) I'm not too sure if I'd be happy knowing other folk are getting it for free. No offense.
And I'm with Bass, where is the news, will we get a review perhaps? I hope so.
I'm curious about that as well. This is the first time I've ever actually been a little bit envious of something that someone else has on a video game. heh
I've just checked and whilst you could use naughty software to gain access through your PC (which you shouldn't do, cos it's bad, ok). There is no way to load said software onto the Wii, unless some modder out there is on it (which you shouldn't do, cos it's bad, ok).
Wow! Just wow! What a great week to be a Wii owner, Wiiware demos and now this! Awesome, just watching Film 2009 (think thats wat its called), quality is brilliant, no pausing. Will be using this channel a lot! Nintendo need do more things like this would love a 4on demand, not that I'm not being appreciative I'm over the moon!
i have it now, but it's not gift-able. (i tried to gift it but it only works for UK)
you need to change conutry settings to UK. I was just afraid to lose my left-over wii points, when i realised i have none left. so i tried it, and it works. well, the channel works, but not the content in it (always error messages). looks cool though.

The only thing you lose in the Wii Shop when you change your country settings are gifts you haven't accepted yet. (I changed mine 5 times)
OK, I shall distance myself from teh dodgy folk being naughty. non-uk can still access radio btw
My iPlayer has had so much use already. A documentary about Mars first thing, then the CBeebies radio show for my nieces when they came round, then I finished watching the documentary I fell asleep in front of last night, and now, I am listening to Bach's Goldberg Variations on Radio3 . This is so super awesome, my Wii has been transformed into a lean mean multimedia machine, overnight.
