Loving the game thus far. I beat the first chapter (lost on my first try) and so far I must say, I'm pleasantly surprise with how I'm enjoying it.

I knew i was going to like this but i didn't expect to LOVE it. When it comes to tower defense games this style in particular does it for me.I love that i can actually choose what floors and traps i want to put and adding monsters is just an absolute blast.I have fun replaying levels, gathering karma and upgrading monsters so they can be really strong. Oh i am so getting the DLC. I'm going to spend 30$ on DLC, that's a total of 40$( including the 10$ purchace of the game itself). That isnt bad cause i've spent about the same on FFCC: My Life As A King.

@Bass X0 -Why don't you think crystal defender counts?

Thanks for the comments, Blaze. The stage DLC is the only thing that appeals to me. And hoensty, I think they upped the difficulty to get you to get an Item DLC to make gameplay easier and that's VERY sneaky, wouldn't you say?

I assume so users wouldn't feel overwhelmed by the amount of DLC available.

I think so too.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

It seems like it could cause more harm than good, by the time some of the DLC comes out, some players will be long gone. I could be wrong though.

I haven't downloaded any of the (2 available) items, though I will definitely check out the extra levels and possibly some additional units. I'm nearing the end of Chapter 3 right now, and it has been a Lot of fun.

While I do think the game is very challenging at points, I don't think it's TOO challenging. The challenge is definitely what makes it fun for me. The trial and error process of setting up your tower to accommodate the varying types of "enemy" units that swarm in has been a lot more fun than I had expected it to be.

If anyone's on the fence about getting it, but enjoys good strategy games, then I'd definitely suggest going ahead and downloading it.

I've bought both of the DLC items(yesterday). I use them for boss levels, infact i couldn't have beat them without. This games is very hard but i LOVE that about this game.

The game is fun. The only thing I do not like is I think Square does the pricing on the DLC a little to high cost. That is coming from a buyer though. But they are making there money and that is all they really care about and thats what businesses do. I bought the items but thats all I plan on buying

I like to justify it that if it was too cheap or included in the game via a button press cheat code then gamers would rush through the game quite easily with very little skill. As it is, you're supposed to make tactical decisions on whether you actually need to download something just to help you enough to get through. If you're good at the game then you don't need to download anything other than the extra chapters.

I also like to think that this game was not created with it being only a 1000 point game. If there was no DLC then I imagine it would be a lot higher for the same game.. The DLC allows for a better game to be produced while keeping the main game at an affordable cost.

Anyone get the new chapter DLC today in NA?

KnucklesSonic8

SKTTR

if it's the same that came out friday in EU then yes. and the three items, too. +150 NE.

Still can't beat chapter 6 Lagislan (Hugo Yurg) stage.
Probably needing Palom, the other monster pack or one of those floor packs.

I'm on the last boss/stage in Chapter 5! I got upset, though. I was so close to winning and I ran out of NP and couldn't stop the party. No, not the boss, but a measly Knight adventurer. He was the only other guy left other than the boss and they would've been done for if I had Magic-focused monsters at the top of the tower but I didn't and so my powerful melee/ranged enemies couldn't stop it. I love how the boss name and the place where you fight it is taken from your file on FFCC My Life as a King. That's so neat!!

This game looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not really a fan of the genre. The only TD game I can claim to have played is Plants vs. Zombies...and all this talk of needing to buy monsters in order to beat a level is a bit worrisome, because I will probably be terrible at this game. I've also thought of trying MLAK. My question for those who've played both: which, in your opinion, is a better investment in terms of gameplay/fun/cost?

My Life as a King.
I have played more than 100 hours without any DLC, so that's the best value I ever got for 1500 Wii Points.
Even if the game came on retail with every DLC inclusive it would be worth those 39€ (3900 Wii Points).

My Life as a Darklord.
I have played this 20-25 hours (with maxing out everything and buying much DLC).
The 1000 Wii Points are good value too, but nothing in there is as big and good as MLAAK.
This game would be worth 2000 Wii Points with all the DLC inclusive, but its 6700 Wii Points which is worrysome indeed.

Get Darklord. I love both games so much it's so hard to choose one and so I refuse to.

Thanks for the thoughts! I will definitely give one of them a try, though if I like one, I will probably give the other a try at some point.

Only if you're some sort of obsessive completist. Besides which, downloading too much stuff will make the game very very easy I should imagine which would ruin it for many people.
