Topic: Madden 2011 for the Wii?

Probably not going to happen given how poorly Madden 2010 is selling.

Madden 2010 a Wii sales flop.

As expected, football favorite Madden NFL 10 was the top-selling video game in August, shifting almost two million copies in just over two weeks. But it wasn't all good news for Madden or publisher EA: the Wii version of the game sold a mere 67,000 copies, roughly half of last year's figure.

Oh well. Last one I bought was 2008 and it was on the 360. Me and my friends still play it. No need to upgrade really.

More and more people are realizing the Wii is just not a good platform to play Madden on.

The franchise won't stop seeing the Wii, but EA likely isn't going to put a lot of effort into the next one.

Doesn't Tiger Wood PGA Tour '10 say hi? Before you say "It's just a golf game, who plays a golf game? It's boring!" or something like that, that version is consider by critics to be the best version of the game. Of course you'll probably consider it inferior to other version because you'll argue with it's lack of Wii Speak support, but that's the only thing the game is lacking from it's HD counterpartners. That and graphics, but that isn't important.

Also, the Madden Franchise on the Wii can do well in quality and in sales if EA Sports put the same or more efforts then on the HD counterpartners.

There's a world of difference between a golf game and a game of backwards armour-plated rugby. With Tiger Woods you can easily replicate the movements required to play the game, but how can you do this on Madden without it feeling slightly less involving. Don't get me wrong, Madden is a good game, but it's still not as great as Tiger Woods. And we've also got to remember that how good a game isn't always (and sometimes rarely even affects) reflective of the sales of a title. People will see Golf and think 'Yeah, that would work on the Wii', people see Madden and wonder how exactly it would all fit together. That's my views on it, at least.

Gotta agree with this. I have no idea why T Woods was brought into this when it was all about Madden. No one said EA won't make sports games, just MADDEN games...paying attention to topics and what people actually say means a lot. Anyways, I don't think EA will stop making Madden for the Wii, I don't believe they've ever not made a Madden for whatever systems are in production, but I don't see them putting much resources into it.

They shouldn't have changed the graphics for this, as Madden buyers are generally very hardcore and won't accept any hint of kiddifying Madden

I hate sports. I won't ever buy madden.Though Tiger wood's game looks good, and it scored alot higher than madden

WTF? The new Madden is horrible. Does anyone know how to change a players position in Franchise mode? It doesn't appear that it can be done.?.

If they would just let you use the CC to play Madden on Wii I could live with everything else about the game.

O and sense it is getting talked about Tiger Wood's PGA tour is awesome and that is coming from someone that hates golf.

For some reason EA thinks that there games on the Wii have to be different from their Xbox 360 or PS3 counterparts. I couldnt stand FIFA 2010 or World Cup South Africa on the Wii but it rocks on the 360.

Heres a tip if you want an EA sports game just save yourself the aggervation and buy the 360 or PS3 version.

I've heard that Madden did well on the Wii until they started to 'make it for the Wii from the ground up' AKA make it completely different and give it a cartoony art style.

I also think EA have to release Madden on all platforms if they want to keep their contract so I guess it sucks to be them.
