Didn't see this in any of the currently maintained topics, and these 2 tracks blew my mind earlier.
Apparently, the japanese-version original soundtrack contains 2 tracks that weren't used in the games. Both are remixes, naturally.
First song: 0'00-1'51 - Battle of the Holy (stage 1 theme from the original Castlevania Adventure for GB) Second song: 1'52-5'11 - Lost Painting (used in a few areas in the Reverse/upside down world in Symphony of the Night)
Talk about a way to make the world's greatest soundtrack even better....seriously... I need this FM Synth that they use cause I am absolutely in love with the sounds of these samples.

Whoa that's pretty cool! Wish they would have used them in the game. I sure hope Konami does at least one more Castlevania Rebirth game. Bemont's revenge could use a remake.

Where were these supposed to be in the Rebirth game?
They aren't in the game, just the soundtrack.
Erm, yes, hence my asking of where they were SUPPOSED to be in the game.
Probably just the Soundtrack. The track list just refers to it as "Castlevania ReBirth: Another Melody" near the end of the list, just before "Contra ReBirth: Another Melody", which also features unused tracks that are remixes of other songs from Contra games. Both of them seem to just be bonus tracks.
@CB - I've actually read in a couple places that this game was originally planned to have 8 stages but cuts were made late in production due to (drum roll please) the Wiiware filesize limit! YAY!
Regardless, knowing Konami they may just simply be bonus tracks...they kinda own like that.

In all seriousness though--congrats. He really doesn't change much between normal and hard...although the inability to position yourself in mid-air makes the final form a ton harder on its own (on classic). Good luck getting through hard mode level 3...and level 5 shudder

I'm a little surprised that they didn't use that first theme in the final version of the game. This is Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth after all. Ah well, the soundtrack is good enough as it is I suppose.
Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know. Letterboxd Youtube Channel
@vons - It took a hair under 3 hours, about 30 deaths on stage 5, and a bout of extreme luck killing Death with 1 hit left with the return-arc of a boomerang I'd accidently thrown and no lives left. But yeah--Hard/Classic is done...I doubt I'm ever setting it back to Normal/Regular .
For me it's just Megaman, Contra, and Castlevania....the respective platforming systems just make sense to me. My next goal is 9 lives, one continue, entirety of Rebirth on Hard/Classic...I have a feeling that'll be a while though (or I'll go through gimpy paths through the stages)...
While that Bloodlines track is good for the first stage....it's by far the worst side-scrolling Castlevania in the entire series. Everything about the physics system is broken/changed for the worse. Boss fights...looked cool, but were marred by the same control scheme that made the rest of the game such a marked step down in all respects.

@vons - my main issue is just that so many core mechanics got screwed up....Jumping doesn't feel right, getting hit launches you at a weird angle, hit invulnerability is odd, the player's hit box is way too big, etc...it'd have been a good game if a little more attention had gone into those types of details. Again--if I'd played it first maybe I could appreciate it more, but it just doesn't play like a Castlevania game...
Talking about good level design and including a screenshot of the Tower of Pisa level just seems...well....incorrect. That's by far the worst stage in the game--stupid harpies with bad floaty physics in a room with ceilings everywhere and a room with a sequence of jump platforms and enemies that dash at you from offscreen. Great design.......
Oh...and there are continues. 2 of them. Artificial extension of difficulty pisses me off too--no need for me to replay the first 2 insultingly easy levels to continuously get cheap-shotted off a cliff on 3 or ground up in a sawblade on 4. That inclusion alone knocks it down a full review-score point just cause there's absolutely no reason for it.
I know a lot of people like the game though and it's not too bad...I just can't say it's as good as the other sidescrollers. It's a 7/10 in a sea of 8/10 and 9/10 entries in the genre, imo. I vastly, vastly prefer Super, and CV3 is the best in series (although Rebirth is up there for sure)
