This did arrive in the post yesterday and I can confirm that it does indeed run in 576i rather than 480p. It looks great, but for people whose TVs don't deal with interlaced resolutions over component the cable swap will be required, sorry! I honestly don't understand why games are still coming out that don't support 480p, but at least widescreen is the norm...
Okay, I'm a little late to the party, but I never knew that the game had 50hz issues until now. Is it just the graphics or has the speed been affected too? I can get over it if it's just the graphics. I would have thought that slow-down was a non-issue in this generation and the last, but the PAL version of Pikmin on GC had black boarders and seemed to run slower than Pikmin 2, and apparently the first Devil May Cry had the same problem. * sigh * If only I was born in North America...
Wow, old thread is old! The last post before Big A2 revived it was 2 months before LKS's release. O_O

But then you'd be pushing multiple jobs for the rest of your life to pay for student loans and medical insurance. Scary place. Oh wait, you mean Canada? (This is all a joke. A joke! Stop poking me, prideful Americans! D:) Well you could just move to an English-speaking Asian country (many of them not far from Australia) because we use NTSC and NA consoles round these parts.
Oh and an announcement: the NintendoLife Game Club has Little King's Story planned for our third session beginning in March!
I actually did sorta mean Canada. That's why I said NA.
And I'm not moving to an Asian country. I was in Singapore 2 years ago and the glare from the sun is unbearable.
But seriously, being a PAL gamer has no advantages whatsoever. If your not playing PS3, or a portable console, you'll be thrown under the bus time and time again. BARF.
It's a very nice game. I just gotta finish it. I think I was up to the mountain boss, but the protagonist kept dieing. I need more health than just 3 hits....
Anyone know whether the game runs slower than the NTSC version? I don't want this to be another Mad World.... I've heard that Mario Party 8 has the same problem with only running in 50hz. Does that one run at the right speed?
Okay, since no-ones knows anything here, I emailed Rising Star Games about it. Here's what they said:
Hi,
Thanks for your kind comments.
In relation to Little King's Story, if I recall correctly the 50Hz / 60Hz decision was made by the developers, who have since dispersed, so I can't find out their reasoning. I haven't seen any complaints about its speed.
Thanks and regards,

So the developer has gone bankrupt, and the publisher has no clue. Looks like we'll never know.
I just recently picked this up and although it started out a bit slow I'm really hooked now! A wonderful charming game full of things to do. I really wish I knew about this game more when it came out. I love the fact that it shares many similarities to pikmon! It will hold me over now till pikmon 3 comes out. If you don't ha e it you should be a le to find it much cheaper now.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Better than Pikmin 2 in my book, which is saying something as Pikmin 2 is aces.
I'd like to play it again but seeing as it took me two and a half years to finish, I don't see that happening. Beautiful, beautiful game though. Love it.
I got this wonderful game last year for £4.98 and IMO its the best third-party game on the Wii. I love it and its definitely better than the Pikmin games which are still good games.
Wow, @Oldboy! Are you absolutely sure about that statement? TLoZ: Skyward Sword, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles are some very stiff competition.

Currently waiting for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon & Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
After the Galaxy games, it's right up there for my favorite Wii game.
I remember being excited about the game back when it was known as Project O". That it actually lived up to most of my hopes/expectations (except for IR pointer control and the lock-on system, both very minor flaws) made it all the sweeter when it finally came out.
I have so much trouble controlling the different units back and forth
I suppose it could work marveslously on a tablet like Wii U, hope it gets a sequel
It is getting a sequel.
I still don't get this, I would think that largely the people who played LKS are the most hardcore Nintendo fans around, so they put the new game on a Sony system? I hope there's a good reason for that as I don't want to see more companies dying just because people didn't want to buy an awesome game.
I've said this already but if there is any justice in this world, this game will become a huge cult classic. Like Earthbound. Or tons of other SNES games for that matter
I think this is a very well made game. Some would even think nintendo might have made it. You slap a Nintendo made label on it and it sells millions! Darn shame unless your a dance game you can't sell millions on a Nintendo platform as a third party!
