That's why he wanted to make everyone a miserable cronies, if he isn't going to be happy no one will. He wants every living being to feel like he does. Though the smiley face in Kirby 64 showed his last attempt to try to befriend someone.
I think Meta Knight (why the heck was I spelling it Metaknight), just wanted to prepare Kirby for Nightmare. He did give Kirby a sword before the fight. Still shows some respect to his personality. Or more specifically his intentions. You remember through the adventure Meta Knight is always in the background throwing a Hyper Lollipop at you in some occasions.
Yes, the Kirby games have a quite deep background compared to other series' like Mario, Castlevania, Mega Man, ... And i also think Meta Knight is an interesting character. I never wanted to doubt this. It just doesn't impress me much in the platformers. Concerning that a Kirby RPG could be a great idea. And Kirby is cute as cotton candy. Especially when viewing the episodes in the Kirby TV channel. Though i can see it getting tiresome there. And while speaking about it here's a short nod to Tiff, the main humanoid character in the show. She's a good role model in being smart, bringing things into question and staying faithful. Especially in the fifth and sixth episode. So far she even beats Meta Knight as the best character in the show. Though they're both leagues ahead of Kirby who's still leagues ahead of all the other characters.
It's a minor change, but now it sounds better because it's more of a video game title instead of a book title. Maybe the Nintendo Representative had a slip of the tongue?
