My friend just got back from his manager's conference for GameStop. He got me this T-shirt and patch. He said it was literally the only cool things he got from his meeting, all the free games for them and such were being shipped directly to stores.
Front: Back: I dunno if I can pull off walking around in a Kirby shirt, so I just gave it to my girlfriend.
Patch: I'm keeping the patch though, its awesome! The material sorta gives it a lenticular type effect although I don't know if its meant to. =]
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
I hope the game runs like that when I get it! It looks FAN-TASTIC! But it seems that Kirby's powers are still gonna be there, just that you'll be picking them up instead of sucking and swallowing. The tank vehicle at the end of the trailer looks like nothing could get in it's way. It'd just bulldoze them.
Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS For really cool avatars for a forum, go here! http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns/Emblems
Awesome I wonder if there going to be any cool pre-order item for Kirby Yarn
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
It's not even a real Kirby game. Absorbing is what makes Kirby Kirby. They should have just replaced Kirby with a new character and had a new franchise.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Not to sound argumentive, but the very first Kirby game had a similar attack function to the one in Kirby's Epic Yarn. Kirby could swallow his enemy then spit it out, similar to how Kirby uses yarn to turn enemies into yarn balls to throw at other enemies. The first Kirby was a true Kirby game, so why not this one? Epic Yarn also has a remixed sound track, classic Kirby enemies (like Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts), and King Dedede as a boss, so it must be a Kirby game. Besides, if this game didn't star Kirby, people would be complaining that there is no Wii Kirby game. Just be thankful for this charming platformer.

That was a true Kirby game because sucking enemies () is what he does. It defines Kirby. That's like Mario not jumping, Link not swinging a sword, or Samus not shooting. It's just not right. If you removed the Kirby characters, nobody would compare it to Kirby. But if they removed the characters and added a swallowing ability, it would be compared to Kirby. A lot. It would be an innovative new franchise from Nintendo without the Kirby characters, and I haven't seen one of those in a while. And even so, people would still complain about the lack of StarFox and F-Zero.

Okay, so maybe YOU don't like Kirby's new yarn makeover. Well, fine. Those of us that do will have all the fun to ourselves, then.
I also guess since Kirby can't suck in Canvas Curse, Kirby's Avalanche, Kirby's Dream Course, and Kirby's Pinball Land, those aren't real Kirby games, then.
Mario is in tons of games where he doesn't jump. Link is in at least one game without a sword. There has been a Star Fox with no Arwing -- or not much at least, I didn't bother with the game much. And this is not Kirby's first game without sucking. All long-standing series have spin-offs that try new things; this isn't really news. The yarn attack is very similar to sucking in the first game, anyway, and he still has the abilities of the later games. The boss fights have been reportedly very Kirby-esque, and that was my favorite part of the Dreamland games.
To me the big point of departure is the lack of flight, not the lack of sucking. And it's about time they get rid of floating, as it really downplays the importance of good level design when you can just float over half of it.

Well by Mario I meant the main series, not the sports ones. But I wasn't specific, so you got me there. And floating is another thing. I think that there should be a restriction so you can't float over the level, but I don't agree with getting rid of it altogether.
@PunnyGuy: I like the yarn makeover, just not the lack of Kirby defining stuff, like sucking and floating. I never consider Sports or Puzzle spin offs as real games of a series. Like the Pokemon Pinball games, I don't consider them Pokemon games. Same applies with Mario sports games, and here. And again, characters are the only thing Canvas Curse has to do with the Kirby series. Nothing else.
I realize I am making it sound like every game in the series should be exactly the same, but that's not what I mean. I think new things should be added to improve on existing franchises, but throwing away traditional details of a game isn't right.
And guys, again, if it's after 9PM EST, do not take anything I say seriously because by then I am tired and don't know what I'm saying.

Yea, I'd have been happy with restricting him to a certain number of puffs like in Smash Brothers. Kind of odd not to have it all. But I still see it as an improvement, though not ideal.
I love how the concept of this game is very similar to the Paper Mario concept. Looks like its using the Yarn as much as possible. Possibly more then Paper Mario used paper. Can't wait~
Now all I can say is that this game is that it looks epic! Way Epicer then 'Epic' Mickey
