I've been curious about it for a while and finally bought it used. I needed to add some manliness to my otherwise squeaky clean cutesy Wii library. I hope shock value isn't the only reason people seem to love this game. Did I choose wisely?

Yes. This game is great and more people need to know about it. The voice acting is hilarious (can't go wrong with John DiMaggio and Greg Proops), the action is non-stop, and the art style is edgy, like Sin City and 300. The shock value helps, too.

I'm back (for the moment)!

YoshiSage

There's not a lot of lasting appeal and it gets repetitive after some time (not to mention the annoying, repeated taunts of some enemies: "I'M GONNA GET YOU MOTHERF*CKER. I'M GONNA GET YOU MOTHERF*CKER." OK, we get it. You're gonna get me motherf*cker if my chainsaw doesn't mutilate you first), but it's just so much fun, and the presentation is unique.

I'm gone. Good f*cking bye.

The game is great now that it's low in price. I played the game when it first came out, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I disagree that it doesn't have lasting appeal, to a certain extent, if you play through the game again on hard mode, it IS really hard, and you can unlock some special weapons after the first playthrough. It's a lot of fun, and a great beat-em-up with some hilarious (although very "adult") commentary. The story is also surprisingly good (for a bear-em-up, that is). The violence and shock factor is a major draw, and every other game looks tame by its standards, even No More Heroes. The action is only as repetitive as you make it, as there are so many different ways to mutilate and destroy your enemies. Also, the motion controls really make the game what it is. It's so satisfying to imitate the motions of throwing a guy against a spike over and over, or ramming a signpost through his skull. There are flaws, as Yoshi said before. They recycle sound clips a little too much at times, but it's not as bad as it could be. Overall it's a great game, and a welcome addition to any collection

One thing I'm not so sure about is all the Rap music. Normally I hate that kind of music but maybe some of it will grow on me.
I'm sure all the vulgarity will be hillarious to listen to. Good thing I don't have kids. Otherwise I'd only be able to play after they were asleep.

I hate rap too, but I liked the music of this game quite a bit. And if you don't, you can turn it off and just listen to the commentary.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

If you played it while they were asleep, you would probs wake em up.

If sounds are an issue, you can turn down or mute the music and background voiceovers through the options menu.

I just played about an hour of it. Pretty decent so far. I can see how it would get repetitive though. This is the kinda game that's better in short bursts. Good for a quick thrill but you wouldn't want to play it for hours on end. I'd say it was a good buy. Only cost me 12 bucks. I may just turn the music down and leave on the commentary. The music isn't too bad though. It's nice to have A Wii game that's not soo cutesy for a change.

But the voice overs, though repetitive, is one of the best parts of the game.

Indeed!

Am I the only one who thinks I'm being watched by Bender from Futurama when I play the game?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, WHY DO YOU GET THAT HORRIBLE GAME??????????

Lol, im joking, anyways I don't got it so =), happy Madword!

I enjoyed the game, but got bored with it pretty quickly, even with the John DiMaggio commentary. I probably would have appreciated it more if i hadn't bought it for full-price on its release day.

I've actually not played through it since I finished it - but that's not to say it doesn't have replay value. I'm very tempted to give it another go but just got so much to play through at the moment.

Anyway I do love this game. I think the Wii actually has some of the finest adult games out of all the consoles with this, House of the Dead Overkill, Shattered Memories and RE4. Even though the first two are often criticised as being nothing more than violence and profanities, they're actually just a high standard of humour. They're seriously hilarious in more ways than "OMG he swore then exploded!". The commentary in Madworld, as said already, is fantastic - yes there's a lot of sex references and crude humour in there, but it's just so funny it's the main reason I love to play it.

I recently got my first 18+ game for Wii too: Manhunt 2.

I thought it was my third mature game but Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and No More Heroes are rated 16+ here. I thought they were 18+ too.

I rented Madworld last fall and I thought it was fairly good. As far as 3D beat 'em ups go, it deffinetly isn't the best i've played but it was still pretty good.
I also dislike rap music but the soundtrack in this game didn't really bother me much at all.

I never really thought about buying this game, but now sinse its so damn cheap (like $10 or less), I may consider it.

Madworld was worth every penny, and I bought it at 10 times the price it is now. You can pick it up for the price of a donut now, and not doing it is a crying shame. Buy, play, laugh, laugh, laugh... I'm even thinking of playing it again now
