I'm currently doing it. For the second time. The last game I bought for it was SMG2, and before that it was Metroid Prime Trilogy. Both are gone now, though. Next game is Zelda.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

nice avatar. depending on what you like there are a bunch of kick third party titles out there. my highest recommendation is No More Heroes.

Nintendo this gen is completely the opposite to the other two consoles in my opinion. No matter how many third party titles on Wii I try, I can't like them, but their first party is amazing, like SMG and Metroid. The other two first party games I don't really like, but they get all of the great third party games, like The Orange Box and Mirror's Edge.

The Game.

I take it you gave No More Heroes a go then? If you liked Killer7 for the PS2/GC, you'll love it.

Lol, thanks. I'm pretty sure RandomWiiPlayer has played at least one of the NMH games though. I thought they were great, but they're not for everyone.

haha, damn, is it that obvious? I thought the gameplay was pretty markedly different however similar the aesthetic may be. In any case, I sure hope homeboy has played a NMH. They're essential Wii titles IMO.

Hey dude, the Wii is just AWESOME, idk why people say it isn't as good as the other consoles, the Wii got just unique games, almost all ps3 and xbox360 games you can also buy them for the computer, so it has no sin for me, I preffer Wii and Nintendo product over everything!!

I never locked up my Wii. Since the day I got it (December 25, 2006), I have had it up and running ever since. I never lost hope with Nintendo. In fact, every year, the Wii is looking better and better. Granted, I wish that there was more Virtual Console support, but I would never betray my Wii because of it. Also, the third-party support is getting better and better, too (especially last year and this year). There's still some shovelware to be had, but that would never make me give up hope.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

The Wii does really have something for everyone, but unfortunately a lot of great games for the Wii just don't sell very well, like Madworld, Little King's Story, or Zack and Wiki (I still need to find a copy of the latter). Still, if you look hard enough anyone can find a Wii game that they will enjoy.

My Wii is in the corner because it didn't read Metroid Prime Trilogy and somehow formatted it's system memory....poor smash bros...

My Wii has always gotten love, although maybe not as consistently as my DS. Some of my best (and perhaps overlooked) games are:

Dragon Quest Swords (kinda short but otherwise good)
Dragonball Z: Tenkaichi Budokai 3 (great wii motion controls)
Endless Ocean (need to get the sequel)
Harvest Moon Animal Parade (and Tree of Tranquility is good too
Little King Story (my friends never heard of it...)
No More Heroes (the only M-rated game I own. I should get the sequel)
Elebits (shut up I like it)
MySims and MySims Kingdom (shut up I liked them)
Rune Factory Frontier (best character development in a HM game ever)
Sam and Max (not a Wii exclusive but still great)
Trauma Centre: all of them
Zack and Wiki (turn a frog into a bomb by ringing your monkey sidekick as a bell)

and of course:
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
Animal Crossing
Sin and Punishment
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Paper Mario (although not as great as the other Paper Marios)
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Okami
My brother says the Wii Fire Emblem is the best in the series

This doesn't even include WiiWare like the Strong Bad games, Lost Winds, Megaman 9 and 10, And Yet It Moves, the Phoenix Wright ports, Orbient, Bit Trip Whatever, Pokemon Rumble, and others.

Wii is great.

I don't think it's obvious. I love the NMH series but killer7 just doesn't appeal to me. Anyway, I doubt I'll ever neglect my nintendo consoles, there are still loads of GBA, GC, DS, wii, vc, wiiware and dsiware games that I need to get as well as many upcoming games for the ds, wii, wiiware, dsiware and the 3ds that look great.

@locke - cursed mountain is a walking-in-a-straight-line simulator with occaisional super-slow/awkward combat. I'd pass personally, and I only paid 9 bucks for it.

Thanks, dude. So, by "walking-in-a-straight-line" do u mean its kind of on rails? I'm a huge survival horror fan, how's the atmosphere and story?

@Starboy Thanks very much

@lockelocke I'm into games where you take control of a character and you go on an adventure. I don't like games that are too gamey where you always know you're just sitting in front of your TV set. I want a game to immerse me in it's world, where you get carried away into the character's adventure. Twilight Princess is a good example, I love Link and love being in control of him; being able to go off into the forrest for a quest, meet people or just herd some cattle or do a bit of fishing. For me that's gaming heaven.

My favourite games on Wii were TP and RE4, I really enjoyed the epicness of those games; just when you think you're near the end you realise that there is so much more going on and lots more to do. The problem with the Wii is that I can't find more great games like that. On the PS3 it's a different story; Batman, Assassins Creed 2, MGS4, Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, to mention a few. All great games, maybe not as good as TP or RE4, but they do convince you of their world and suspend your disbelief and then amaze you with what they have to offer, just like good films do, except so much better cos they last at least 10 times as long and you are in control. I also like to mess about with party games and little downloadable games, but ultimately what I want is the great ones, and their not being made for Nintendo's console.

Also, thanks for asking and sorry about the long response!

@billy-beauts
I'm with you all the way. "Too arcady" is my biggest qualm with games. There are some games, however, like Ikaruga, or other "bullet hell" type shooters, that I play specifically to get that score based and arcady feel, but I hate when games mesh the two. Madworld is the perfect example of a score based game that's hella fun to play, but attempts to throw a half assed story into the mix, which IMO, doesn't mix with the "stage select" type world map and "must achieve x amount of points" style gameplay.

My highest recommendation for an immersive story based Wii game goes to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The game is pure story and atmosphere. Also, check out the Metroid games, they might be perfect for your tastes.

No More Heroes is a bit more arcady, but the world that the game creates is unique and immersive, and the protagonist is a badass and fun to play as. I highly recommend it, but it might be a bit too "gamey" for your tastes.

Oh, also. Play Fallout 3 on your PS3.
