you may have seen me trash talking my Wii in comments from time to time complaining about the lack of "hardcore" titles in its library or about the disappointing release schedule of the Virtual Console I was confused and angry. I tossed my Wii into a corner and let it gather dust. But after the hearing about a Silent Hill game for the Wii (one of my all time favorite franchises), I brushed the dust off and gave it another go. After playing through Shattered Memories, I started browsing the Wii section whenever I was in my local Gamestop to buy the newest 360 title. I found countless used games that had been released during my Wii hiatus, and they were all super cheap. So, I picked up NMH2 for $20, next time I picked up Madworld for $12, a few weeks later I tried out Muramasa for $20. In conclusion, I feel like I've been very unfair and mean to my Wii. We used to be great pals, and I've spent the better half of the year trash talking it behind its back. Spewing never-ending amounts of scathing judgements whenever it leaves my apartment to grab lunch. So I'd like to take this opportunity to officially apologize to my Wii: You're hardcore titles are plentiful, and your WiiWare library has proven to be bountiful. I was wrong, and I love you.
anyone else feeling disappointed? betrayed? when you first heard of the Virtual Console, did you imagine yourself playing hours of Tetris Attack, Earthbound, and Super Mario World 2? Anyone else lock their Wii away only to realize later that their was much more fun to be had? am I the only jack who disowned their Wii?
I've given up on the VC mainly because of no Yoshi's Island or EathBound (still have plenty of games on it though). But never had put my Wii away or whatever, I love their games...from Mario Galaxy 2 to the Metroid games...and definitely to Monster Hunter. (and I still even play Brawl, lol)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@The Fox It may just be that I didn't log into the shop channel or check NintendoLife for a solid half a year, but once I did, the WiiWare library was even a little overwhelming. There were new ArtStyle games, new Bit.Trip games, a version of Toribash (which I love), Cave Story, a new LostWinds, reboots of Contra & Castlevania, and now Super Meat Boy is on the horizon. I think WiiWare has done good for itself, even if it took a good while for its library to become substantial.
The great thing about Wii is that unlike the XBOX 360, it's a balanced console. There's a game for everyone, whether you're a hardcore gamer, 5-year old girl, or pregnant woman.
@LuWiiGi True, true. I took that for granted for the first part of its console life. I only wanted games for ME ME ME. But from a larger perspective it really has more to offer than the other consoles.
@NotEnoughGolds Nah, it's on my list of games to get, but I figure finding it used won't be a strugge, so when I found a used copy of Muramasa, I picked it up instead. Just started Muramasa up last night actually. Super sick.
I never locked up my Wii. Since the day I got it (December 22, 2006), I have had it up and running ever since. I never lost hope with Nintendo. In fact, every year, the Wii is looking better and better. Granted, I wish that there was more Virtual Console support, but I would never betray my Wii because of it. Also, the third-party support is getting better and better, too (especially last year and this year). There's still some shovelware to be had, but that would never make me give up hope.

And thats why a lot of people hate us Wii players.
Since I got my hands on a PS3 I fell out of love with my Wii - they just weren't releasing enough games that I was interested in on Wii. My Wii has been broken for about 3 months and I don't miss it too much. Hell! I probably wouldn't even bother paying to fix it if it wasn't for my girlfriend whining cos she can't play Just Dance anymore. That's improved recently since I got SingStar.
I will fix my Wi sometime. But whether I'll fall back in love with it again is looking more and more doubtful.
@billy-beauts I felt the exact same way when I finally got around to picking up a 360. Since I put my Wii away, tho, I gang of good games have come out. What kind of games are you interested in?
Wii's been improving, because the list of games I want but can't buy has been growing exponentially recently. I'd like to see a bit more VC love, but, other than that, I have no issues.
Now I'm off to play...Metroid Prime or Kirby's Adventure? Hmmm....
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
