Topic: Is the Wii coming to a close?

With the 3DS coming out I'm thinking of selling my Wii. I can't really think of any titles this year that are coming out >_<

idk. I know a new console is in the works. Maybe after Zelda SS we'll see something.

Skyward Sword is probably one of the final big games for the Wii, yes. A successor to the Wii will most likely appear in Q3/Q4 2012, but even then games will still continue to come out for the Wii for at least another year.

I hope not. There are still loads of gamecube, wii, vc and wiiware games that I still need to get. Also, I can think of some great wii games coming out this year like:

Xenoblade
The legend of Zelda: Skyward sword
Kirby's epic yarn(eu)
Castle of shikigami III(eu)
Mario sports mix
Fatal frame II
Rhythm paradise wii
There will also probably be more great games announced for wii at e3.

The Last Story, Rhythm Heaven Wii, Conduit 2, Mario Sports Mix, Just Dance 3, all the WiiWare stuff like F.A.S.T. Racing League, plus games we haven't heard about like Dragon Quest X. Way better than what the 3DS has to offer.

I think we've got at least another two years but if the wii's the first to make the jump to next generation, they're gonna get hurt. Sony'll probably announce their next system after the 3d thing blows over.

The Wii is NOT coming to a close because of the 3DS. I think the next generation console will be announced at TGS 2012, then get released on Holiday season 2013.

i agree that the upcoming wii games isn't exciting as the 3ds but it's still got a lot of great game being released for it like the ones I mentioned in post 5.

I think the WII games releaes may slow done a bit in the summer. I only have De Blob 2, Epic Yarn, Mario Sports Mix and Skyward Sword to get. Hopefully, if wii software sales slow in the uk around mid-2011, they'll finally release Excitebots Wii.

Then again there's always E3 2011

And there's still a whole year. Who knows what someone is gonna announce. Reggie himself said that Nintendo has something up their sleeves for the Wii.

I'd be kinda happy if the Wii hit a lull this year, I've got about 20 new WiiWare games I'm excited for, about 6 new things for Wii, about 30 old things for WiiWare, and about 20 old things for Wii. Plus the 3DS is coming this year, which will give me a working DS, access to DSiWare, and of course new 3DS games.

I could use a break somewhere.

I think the wii will have a great year this year but nintendo consoles are always around 5 years. thats this year. I think they may announce or tease a new console at this years e3. i like when new things come out but the current consoles are still doing great we dont need new hardware

I will never sell any of my systems anymore, I learned that from selling my N64 when the Gamecube came out. Even if they never bring another game out for the system in question I still keep it so I can play the games I do have for it. And that way I dont have to worry about tracking one down years later like I had to do with a N64.

The Wii's momentum may slow, but the Wii won't die, at least until the next (non-portable) console comes out imo.

the wii isn't dead not yet any way. the only reason for the few releases is because of the 3ds draining all of the developers. this could be a blessing in disguise though it means thell be less crappy 3rd party games on the market giving us more money to spend on quallity titles.

I only want Zelda out of those.
