I wonder if Road Rash would've been a good choice for IGN's list?
It's a fun racer.

The point about Gargoyles was that some part of Disney developed it themselves, so they could release it themselves like LucasArts has done. I actually have Gargoyles on my Genesis (asked for it years ago, because I love the TV show), and although it takes a lot of creative liberties with the story, it's a pretty good game, except for the really hard and annoying part right before the first boss where you have to glide between and climb two opposing castle towers while avoiding those bars of lava (not sure exactly what they are) that they keep firing from openings in the walls that knock you down if you get hit. You might want to use the debug code to get past that part.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Like Star Fox and Pilotwings. Two SNES classics that many people want/wanted.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Oh yeah, I loved Road Rash. I almost got EA Replay just to play that game again.

@Bulbasaurus Rex: I disagree with you saying that Disney can just release there games on the Virtual Console. With Lucasarts, Nintendo only needs to split between them. But with Disney, considering that they did not develop or even publish most of there titles, Nintendo not only has to split money to them, but also to one, two, or more developers who worked on the particular game, thus the game is still under licensing issues and will remain that way until Nintendo, Disney, and others who worked on the games based off Disney's property decide to stop showing off so much unecessary pride and agree to split money no matter the cost. Some are a little bit more likely like Disney games developed by Capcom, because Capcom is supporting the Virtual Console. Others like Disney games developed by Virgin will not be as easy, since they don't support the Virtual Console. Combine that with Disney's piss-poor support for the Wii and the result is that no Disney games have above an 30% of being made available on the Virtual Console in there original form.

And before you people bring up the TMNT franchise, Konami only got one TMNT game on the Virtual Console and that game sucks and after that, they lost the right to the TMNT games. Except that we have the higher chance because one TMNT game is already available and hasn't been removed yet.

Smash, you really need to check your facts (or at least read his post) before ranting in reply. It took me less than a minute to read his post and find out the following. Rex never said they could release all their games, just this one. The game Gargoyles was developed and published by Buena Vista, which is part of Disney. You don't seem to understand licensing, and yet seem obsessed with it, bringing it up and debating it at every turn. No offense intended, you're a cool guy and all, but I'd really suggest picking up another cause. =/

As soon as Virgin gets on board there will be an Out of this World epidemic.
Edit: Maybe not. I guess Virgin had nothing to do with that game. I was so sure, too...

It's good to see a Rush game on that list, but i'm really pissed off of what they said about Rush 1 and Rush 2! C'mon, bad music and waste of time?! They have no idea of what they're talking about!

I would download Pitfighter( for the Sega Genesis) in a heartbeat if only to support Midway titles on the VC.

most of these games were all HUGE in their day. There's nothing obscure about this list. I'd guess those of you who think they're obscure are just too young to remember when they were hits.

The Immortal for the MegaDrive (I will not call it a Genesis) seems like a game from EA. Wonder if it's any good?

Yeah, it's an old school MegaDrive classic, and it is a good little game. Difficult, but good.

Desert Strike would be good as well.

How about Haunting starring Polterguy? I had fun with that game (on EA Replay). I actually made it to the final boss once, only to lose my last life there.

The 3 three that made sense to be in that list were Star Fox, Battle Toads, and Pilotwings, otherwise, yeah another flawed list from ol' IGN.

Just for you.

I agree. Of Pilotwings though, I want the 64 version. D:
