Well, I can understand StarFox. That's all I'll say for the time being. Although, Gargoyles (as much as I want to play it) doesn't sound possible. I remember the show (a lot), but it's a licensed title.
Certainly an interesting list. I never actually heard of any of the games they listed, but they seem pretty interesting. Also, it would be nice if we could get all of Rare's NES games, if only because we know they'll never be remade or rereleased unless they put out a collection.
@Mickeymac: Barely. Now you could point to the TMNT series or Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker, but the TMNT series is owned by Ubisoft now and the only reason we might get Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker is because they are trying to pay off the debt that they have.
I'm surprised IGN was aware of Gargoyles. I loved watching that show years ago. Unnusually dark-toned for a Disney series. Maybe I should consider this game.

Don't forget everything released by Lucasarts(those are licenced games too). I'm just saying it's possible, because If Disney Interactive and/or Buena Vista starts suporting the VC, we're bound to get it at some point. And right now, there's no good reason why they wouldn't ever start supporting the VC at any given time.
tbh, pilotwings is already out on vc in japan and europe already, and hasn't aged very well. pit fighter, again, suffers very dated dated game play. star fox i'm sure will eventualy get a vc release. micro machines, if this doesn't come out on vc, i will be a little sadend as this still plays great, and two player is fantatic. the one player game does take some time to complete though. the other games i've heard of, but never played though.
I am familiar with some of the games on the list since I own over 1,300 video games without counting the ones that I used to own or rent. Here are the games that I own that are on Ign's list.
Pit Fighter is a great port of the arcade version and I was a fan of the arcade version. The game itself didn't age well including the arcade version. It became outdated as the 1990's went on to put it mildly. It shouldn't have been on the list by Ign. If you have to put a Genesis game down, put Crusader of Centy down.
Desert Strike - part of one of my favorite 16 bit series games. I agree with Ign on this one. They might as well put on the whole Strike series.
Gargoyles - not a bad game. I see why IGN would want it.
Battletoads - I rented this one back in the early 1990's for the Nes. Good but very difficult game. I have no issues with Ign having it on their list.
Pilotwings - not a big fan of it, but should be out by the end of the year or early next year. Super Megaforce or Final Fantasy 4 would be a great replacement on the list.
Star Fox - I never been a fan of this game this for some reason.
Well, they're certainly unique choices, I'll give it that, but few of the games look particularly interesting, and only a few of them I've even heard of. Snake Rattle and Roll looks good, Pilotwings and Starfox were pretty obvious choices, and I'd like to try that Gargoyles game since I loved the show as a kid.
I really do hope Disney jumps on board. They made so many great game sin the past that need to be revisited.
I also looked up that The Immortal was available for the NES as well. Although, I'm getting the impression it doesn't sound that good. Desert Strike, which I played on EA Replay for PSP, I thought was okay. Although I couldn't really get into it much. But, I had a ton of fun with the MegaDrive Road Rash trilogy. In fact, it's the most fun I had on EA Replay.
I thought it was a good list. I would also like to see Rush 2049 on VC. My 64 is starting to slowly have troubles so I am hesitant to buy the cartridge.
