Topic: Idea for when DK64 comes out

First, they release DK64 without the arcade game easter egg. Then, they release the actual arcade game on VCA. It'd be a good move.

Isn`t the Donkey Kong game(Mario as "Jumpman") on the VC in the NES section? Or is that not the REAL original game? Oh well. They just better put the jetpack game in there cause that was awesome.

The arcade game [Jetpack] isn't an easter egg. You have to beat it to beat the game.
Jetpack belongs to RARE [who is now owned by microsoft] so they would have to remove it entirely, plus the door that requires the RARE coin.
They would also have to take out the RARE golden banana [you get it by saving all 20 banana fairies].

Biggg deal. RARE needs to release a good game such as Banjo, DKR, or DK64 soon!!

They released all three DKC's with Rare's logo intact, so I don't see a problem with that.

Fun little tidbit: I recently watched a video of the VC version of California Games for Commodore 64, and I noticed a banner for Kawasaki. People who have seen Wave Race 64 on VC should know why this is funny. >:3

They don't need to remove the Rare logos. The jetpack thing might be an issue.

RARE doesn't release any VC games. The Donkey Kong series is the only one that belongs to Nintendo, so Donkey Kong 64 and maybe Diddy Kong Racing(we got the sequel on DS, so it's a possibility) are the only ones we'll ever see that have yet to come out yet.

Actually, they seem to still make games for portable systems, despite being owned by microsoft. I think it only affects their console games.

I know that, Ravage, that's why I mentioned nothing about their NDS releases and focused on the Virtual Console releases. Allstars wanted RARE to release more games, I was simply letting him know that they can't.

Diddy Kong Racing DS omitted Banjo and Conker. If DKR is to come to the VC, they'll have to do the same.

Its only a matter of time, surely. Donkey Kong is Nintendo's property, so the fact that it was developed by Rare won't hinder it, and with the release of Majora's Mask, Expansion Pack support has been confirmed. All they really need to do is remove Jetpac and Donkey Kong and they should be all set.

Nintendo doesn't want to tamper with it's VC releases. other companies can, as Shinobi was edited, but Ninty doesn't want to. it's why we'll never see Earthbound, even though all they'd have to do is move a handful of notes in a couple songs, and it's why we'll never see DK64.

@StarFox: While that is true, they did include a statue of Banjo and Kazooie, as well as a statue of Mumbo in Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise.

It might seriously be cheaper to buy the cart off ebay than a VC release.

Well, I know that Rare is willing to have Donkey Kong 64 release, but, given how willing Rare is upon releasing the game, Rare either has the removal all pre-planned or does not mind having Donkey Kong 64 released with Jetpac intact.

(In all seriousness, this topic has been on over and over again. There should be a list for which games have a probability of not being released on Virtual Console.)
