I'm not absurdly impatient ... well, okay, maybe I am, but that's not the point. I'm sick of Mario and I'm sick of his stupid games always getting top priority. If S&P2 and Metroid Other M were delayed for reasons that had nothing to with SMG2, I wouldn't be nearly as upset. The first SMG game pissed me off so much that I almost broke the disc.
@BlueFlame - what annoyed you so much about Super Mario Galaxy, out of curiosity? I thought it had a fantastic orchestral soundtrack. @lz - no, don't destroy NintendoLife! It's one of the best sites ever!

I don't think it'll stink, Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Fine! N-life is spared, so I'll destroy StarBoy instead >:3

Metroid: Other M got delayed because Team Ninja needed more time for development. Also, what exactly made you not like Mario Galaxy? Was it that Luigi 100 purple coin challenge?

The purple coin challenges themselves didn't really bug me so much; it was finding Mario horribly unable to control, especially when I was on time limits. I also didn't like having to choose between ditching the music and sound effects or putting up with Mario's incredibly annoying voice which so many of you seem to love for some reason. Occasionally getting a disc error right after completing a stage didn't help either. Super Mario Galaxy wasn't a horrible game all around, it just had too many problems. I liked some of the tunes, and the parts where I didn't have to flip- and wall-jump dozens of times to get it right were actually quite fun. Then I see screenshots and gameplay footage of what looks like more of the same (to be fair, it's another Galaxy game) with a few new powers, and Peach getting kidnapped again. I also hate Bowser Jr and think he is one of the biggest wastes of brain power and game data ever ... and I'm betting he's also in the game. Throw in Mario announcing the title as the game boots up again and you have what I consider a disc-equivalent of toxic waste. If there is one good thing to say about the game, one of the few Mario characters I don't want to strangle for ... makes a return. Does that answer your question? I will not refuse to give this game a chance, but I won't be going out of my way to try it either.
@BlueFlameBat: Your skills aren't worthy of playing Super Mario Galaxy, it sounds like you just plain suck. The controls were amazing and the challenge was relatively low for a 3D Mario. Please do not play SMG2.
It doesn't suck, it's already been reviewed, previewed, etc.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
I thought the first Super Mario Galaxy was overrated*, and am not sure about buying this one (at least not right away). It'll probably be a great game, but I'd still rather play Trauma Team.
(*I should clarify this. The game was very well designed, looked good, and had an awesome soundtrack... but I just prefer my Mario action to be 2D. Technically the game deserved all the praise, but it just didn't feel as "fun" for me and so I think that a 97 Metacritic rating is too high. New Super Mario Bros Wii was a much better fit for my preferences.)
I would go to the various Nintendo headquaters around the world and burn them to the ground.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I hate to do a non-answer to a question but this is one that is literally impossible to happen.
At the very very very doomsday worst SMG2 will be an expensive "expansion pack" for SMG1. That would be disappointing, albeit unlikely, but you'd still be playing a pretty good game.
Thinking about SMG2 completely sucking is akin to thinking about gravity "not working" for a day, or the sun turning into ice for 30 minutes. I can't do it.
Didn't think its prequel was exactly the worlds best videogame, though I did enjoy it, but SMG2 not living up to expectations or hype, wouldn't bother me too much, since my expectations based on SMG1 aren't through the roof to begin with.
