i played through MP1 on easy already, only to unlock hypermode difficulty (I actually copied my save file before Meta Ridley, Gee i love this guy^^) Currently i play through prime1 (H) in the fusion suit and just got the morph ball, echoes (V), just reached the swamp area corruption (V) recently acclaimed the grapple swing.
Before work last night I defeated the DREADED Boost Guardian on my first try! He definitely seemed a little easier, and I seemed to get a lot more energy than I remember, which probably helped immensely. Oh well!

I have all of the energy tanks, 10 of the artifacts, and the only upgrade I know I'm missing is the flame thrower. (And a phazon cannon if you get that.)
I'm kind of lost though. I can't figure out the last two clues for the artifacts. One tells me to seek the unseen entrance at the top of Phendrana's Edge, which I assume is a clue to use the X-Ray Visor, but I didn't notice anything. There's one of those flying grapple creatures up there, but I can't reach him. Must have overlooked something.
The other clue is about a "tunnel" in the Phazon Mines. It tells me to forge a path through it, or something. In the maintenance tunnel (a morph ball section) there was a rock slide, which I got rid of with a super bomb. But I can't seem to do anything else in there, and I certainly don't know where an artifact would be hiding. The maintenance tunnel is the only room I've found with "tunnel" in its name, so unless I've read the clue improperly, I'm not sure what I should be doing.
I had played up to the Phazon mines when I realized I missed scanning the one time only Ice Shriekbat. Started over and am currently up to the same point I was, just about to go into the mines.

Me stink at MP1.
1. The platforming is pretty tricky in the "Edge" room. Keep looking for ice platforms on the sides of the room. I think the Thermal Visor actually works a little better in finding the door hidden behind the wall. Try that!
2. Do you remember going through a morph ball room near the Omega Pirate room? It's kind of between some rooms that are pitch black. You go in a pretty big circle, but there's an area where you can drop down and roll down through a LONG stretch of Phazon to find another artifact. You should be able to hear the "BUUUUWAAAN" item noise as soon as you enter the room.

Ooh, thanks for the help! You know, I DID remember that phazon tunnel and almost spent time looking for it, but normally the highlighted word in the artifact clue is part of the room's name on your map, and the only thing I found that was actually referred to as "tunnel" was the maintenance tunnel. I probably wasn't looking hard enough...and, also, I'd just beaten the effing Omega Pirate (my first death!) so I was feeling slightly fatigued and disinterested in immediate exploration.
I'll try to find those last two artifacts this weekend. Thanks!

Ah, you didn't search the map hard enough. It's on the lowest level, it's something really simple like "Phazon Mining Tunnel." And at Phendrana's Edge, the hidden room is a little bit further down than the Security Cave. Use the thermal visor to find a door.
I just got my arse handed to me by Meta Ridley. I was doing pretty darned good until he got groundside with me. Hadn't even lost a single energy tank.
Apparently I've missed a few things though. I've got all the weapon upgrades, but it appears I'm 1 or 2 short on energy tanks and I've only got like 155 missles.

I totally love meta ridley, his airborn form is the more epic one, but also the easier phase as well...

Oh awesome, thanks! I'm pretty sure I was already in the security cave, so I stupidly kept trying to climb upward from there. Now I feel foolish. I'll try to get those last two next time I play, and then I guess it's into the crater? I think my progress through the game is around 77%, so I guess there's still a ways to go.
Just got the Phazon Suit (gawh, the elite pirate dude was hard), two more energy tanks, and another missile expansion. Now to find all the artifacts... joy.
MP1 down, with a depressingly low completion rate of 87%. Mercy me; I guess I missed more expansions than I thought.
The game is much easier (and better) with the new controls. I remember dying frequently on the GC. Now the only time I died was against the Omega Pirate.
Meta Ridley was a blast.
Metroid Prime itself almost killed me, because I didn't realize it had a second form, so when I saw his first form was nearly dead I just tanked into him, firing away, figuring I had nothing left to save my energy for.

I think you probably missed some scans, as they count as part of your percentage.
