I got an Email today from Nintendo. Surprisingly, it WASN'T another "Buy This Game" Email that I would automatically delete. Here's what the main part of the Email said:
"V8 Ninja, have you been to the Wii Shop Channel? We'd like to show you why it's one of the most exciting features of your Wii™ console, accessible only via broadband Internet access, so please enjoy this special promotional gift on us. Use the number below to download your copy of Super Mario Bros. directly to your Internet-connected Wii console today."
So, what do you guys think? Personally, I already have about 4 different copies of SMB, so it doesn't affect me much.

Nope, the Email said it was from Nintendo of America. Kinda weird.

I'll take it if you don't want it (I don't have SMB lol)
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
I've never understood why SMB isn't a zero point download. Haven't they made enough money from this game? Wouldn't it be cool that if in addition to getting Wii Sports with your console you also got the SMB download? It'd create alot of goodwill toward the company, and all the thirty-something Wii owners would get all nostalgic-y over the first videogame they ever owned, the one they played to death until they could afford a second game.
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!
Do you have stuff from VC/WW registered on Club Nintendo V8? Maybe they're only giving this email to people who they don't think have connected their Wiis online.
(i was a good customer and connected my wii. please to have a free game too, or perhaps a nintendo points reward on CN?)
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
@Token_Girl Nope. That's probably why I got the Email. I would have my WiiWare stuff registered, but whenever I try connecting it says it can't connect.

You'll never understand why a company wants to continue selling something that remains profitable?
One free game + encourages use of VC = still profitable. Not as much but (shrug). Not like it's any dumber than using the more popular Mario 3 as a free game.
Maybe Nintendo should give all new accounts 500 starter points.
Connection Ambassador Program anyone? Exactly that is happening.
A free copy of SMB is also a good idea. It would be best to pack in the code with every new Wii, so new Wii owners are aware of VC and WiiWare and also have a free download thus a reward when getting their console online.
