I'm wondering what the situation is with Delphine Software. I know they went out of business some time ago but I'd love to see these titles appear on the Virtual Console. I think the rights to Another World went back to its original creator and it has been re-released on the PC recently, so I'd think it's possible for that to be released.
What's the situation with Flashback? I know its sequel, Fade to Black, is on the PlayStation store but who holds the right to this game? Could we see it on the Virtual Console soon as, I'm sure, it must be one of the most wanted titles.
Surely it must be - Flashback was the game to own when it was released. Everyone had it be it on SNES, Megadrive, Amiga - high review scores, excellent sales, a good solid adventure game. If it's not one of the most wanted titles then you all must have had your memories erased - look for a holocube and get them back!
I've only played a small portion of Flashback, but Another World was one of the greatest gaming experiences one could have.
Did anyone here play Heart of Darkness, created by the same designer and released in '98? It was a fantastic game, which I may have enjoyed even more than Another World. It was also the last of its kind, because they never went on to make another game with the same unique style.

I did. I really loved that game back on my PSX.

You know I never actually finished it - the furthest I ever got was the end of the New Washington section - think that's when the Death Tower bit starts but I couldn't get through there.
I'd love to play it through again and see it to the end - I reckon I'd have the patience now. It's a shame as it was one of my favourite games at the time and I never beat it. I could do it now on an emulator but it'd be nice to play it through again on the TV.
I've never heard of Heart of Darkness - I'll have to check it out. I know of Heart of the Alien, a direct sequel to Another World, but not played that. I did buy the PC re-release of Another World a couple of years ago with HD graphics. I actually managed to finish it straight through for the first time - it's actually quite an easy game when you know how to get through but I have to say it's the visuals and overall atmosphere of the game I like.
Actually one thing about Another World I really love is that it tells a story without any dialogue or text. The communication between the two characters is well done despite the fact they're unable to speak to each other.
I was playing Flashback on my Megadrive at the weekend, its still good - once I remembered the controls. Really impressed me at the time, I only rented it back then as I couldnt afford to buy many games.
I played Heart of Darkness on the PS1, it was good, shame it never saw a Saturn release or I would have bought it.
