Amazon frequently has stupidly high prices on limited supply items, and you can look right below the main price to see much, much more reasonably priced copies from third parties. I would only buy the game if it were $30 or lower, myself. Too hard, and this kind of game is too long to replay often without feeling too much of "been there, done that."

Honestly, I just thought the game was awful when compared to other Fire Emblems. You're totally correct about the difficulty, but besides that, you get more useless characters than any other FE, the support conversations were butchered to the point where I really felt like I had been double-crossed by Intelligent Systems and I honestly hated that it was a direct sequel, a new cast would have been more rewarding. Not to mention the shoddy testing job done with the save data transfer...
Yea, the data transfer bug was ridiculous, but it didn't affect me because I'd already sold all my GC stuff, including the save card, fortunately. But even though the dialog was questionable and the story was overwrought, I loved the cut scenes, and I was glad Ike returned and that Sothe had a better role, even if he was stuck with stupid Miciah the whole time. I also was happy that they included the one-handed control scheme. It's nice to be able to hold a drink and play!
I don't think it was a totally bad game, but of the ones I've played so far (Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Shadow Dragon, and Gaiden [translated rom]), it was easily my least favorite.
Hey I loved that game >.> lol. It was my first real FE.
Ditto, I have noting bad to say about Radiant Dawn -- excellent game. I'll get Path of Radiance when I get get it for less than £20 on Ebay. I picked up Radiant Dawn once I got wind it was only getting a limited print run; same reason I'd be picking up Geometry Wars if I didn't already have it.
I loved Path of Radiance and am now playing Radiant Dawn (part IV, chapter 3) and it's even better, say the best one. Of course both games should be played in order to make Ike's appearance in Radiant Dawn much more satisfying.
I have Sacred Stones (GBA) and Shadow Dragon (DS) too, both were not as great.
What transfer glitch? My Gamecube memory card transfer worked fine with Radiant Dawn.
