I will be doing a review of this game on my Youtube channel soon thanks to permission from Shin'en. So far i like the game has some good speed to it. But i don't preferably like the way you drift... Then again only tried out with the Wii remote.. Also I love the graphics in the game. Crisp and beautiful water effects, buildings are recognizable, and the Cars are goregous. I wish though they would have added Wi-Fi on the game. It would have really improved the sales even more.

How do you drift? Is that that slice thing? I don't really understand how that works.
It is the slide technique. I'm guessing it is some sort of Drift but its kinda off a little bit. I don't really use it if i need to slow down i just tap on the button once then go back to turning. The turns when using the slide move aren't like a drift. its like a gravity pull i would say. I just beat the first class i'm going to try to unlock more before i start my review on it but so far i'm giving the game ATM between a 7 and 8.
Are there any unlockable tracks on this aside from the first 12? The board on GameFaqs had some people saying there were more. Can anyone confirm this?

I keep reading impressions on the game from different sites and they are saying there's 36 tracks. This being a Wiiware game I find that hard to believe. Could they really have crammed that much content into the game? If so this is practically Retail quality!

I´d read that too, but searching i found that when you complete 3 leagues a new class is opened with the same 12 tracks, which its only difference is the speed of the cpu racers, so you´ll be racing the same tracks 3 times. I haven´t seen videos of the second or third class, but the ones i´ve seen give me the impression that is a race against no one, because once you´ve reached 1st place don´t see the others cars anymore even if you crash. I think i´ll save those 1000 points and keep playing Mario Kart or Excitebots.

That is what the videos seem to convey but that isn't the case. If you race near perfectly with no errors you'll likely stay out in front the whole time but if you crash or fly off the track, you would have to be pretty far ahead for no one to pass you up. Either this game isn't very easy or i just straight up suck at it
Well anyway it's obvious that Shin'en has the best looking Wiiware games. The graphics are as good as some of the best looking Gamecube games! They can really pull off some amazing eye candy. I'd like to see what they could do with a full retail game.

There are twelve tracks divided over three worlds. They get repeated on the higher difficulty leagues (only faster). The challenge mode does have completely new levels. No repetition or missions on excisting tracks, all new. So maybe they are counted to the 36.

Well that may have just convinced me. I think I will get this game now. If the Wii isn't getting it's own F-Zero game this seems like the next best thing.

One of the music tracks in this game sounds awfully similar to something else. I knew I'd heard this somewhere before but have a listen to this. [youtube:Dk1F_kroupM]
Interesting no? The guys who made this must be fans of Mega man Zero.

I've now finished all leagues on easy and I have to say this is a really nice game! There's alot to keep you busy also. Unlockable challenge tracks, Extra racers and the graphics are amazing for Wiiware. Might as well say this is the best Racer on Wiiware. Reminds me alot of F-zero GX. Only not as brutally difficult which is a plus. Highly recommended for racing fans! Well now to go try my luck on the higher difficulties.

Oh, thanks SKTTR! It was basically my first try on the difficulty so I still think I could've done better. Honestly, I think the Wii Remote + Nunchuk combo is the best control scheme to work with.
Just downloaded... my god this is amazing. Most Wiiware games you can tell are Wiiware games. Things like a lackluster presentation, very simplistic gameplay, minimal content... all things Shin'en somehow manage to avoid. Seriously, to an outsider this could look like a full retail game (albeit with a few less tracks than one might expect from a retail game after F Zero GX set the bar at a million).
Motion controls are great. The Ikaruga mechanic thrown into a racer is genius. Excite Trucks / Bots seem faster, but this game is $10, so... and it plays 4P local, like all racers should. I hope next generation Nintendo is smart enough to help strong independent developers get their games online, but it'd take a miracle for a WiiWare game to steal away Mario Kart's popularity, so I can live with it.
Anyway, can someone tell me how to unlock tracks and cars? Gamefaqs doesn't have a FAQ for this game.
