I know what you mean, GuardianAcorn, and I agree with you. No matter how powerful graphics get, game designers will apparently always have a hard time making people that don't look awkward and like they're made out of plastic. There's something about HD that makes things look unnaturally crisp that I just can't get used to.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

NIce to know about this. Looks like there's some good third party 3rd person action titles (my favourite genre on Wii next to pinball) coming this year. Hopefully more than one of them makes it to our shores!

The_Fox -> Just so you know, I didn't mean to preemptively call you a jerk who deserves to get slapped. I think what I was getting at was how whenever some new exciting game gets announced for Wii, there's almost always someone who finds a way to complain about it, so I guess I was just anticipating that. What a jerk.

Wheels2050 -> I don't know if it's uncanny valley (by the way, thanks for the link, I've been trying to remember what it's called for weeks) so much as it seems like a lot of games with hyper-realistic graphics focus so much on making things look good or making them overly dramatic and exciting, that they don't realize that people don't actually move their hands when talking the way they do in pretty much EVERY video game featuring realistic people.

I agree with you there kurtasbestos - I think game developers sometimes spend way too long trying to animate characters without actually using a real person for reference (at least, it seems like that).

You've obviously never seen me or my crazy hand gestures.
Besides, in Japan they use plenty of body language, and at least over there it's not that strange to move your hands while you talk.

I have a Backloggery now! Nothin' fancy, but feel free to add me as a friend.

Axoloth -> I spend a lot of time in Japan and I've never seen anyone talk with their hands the way they do in video games. Then again, the way people talk in most mainstream Japanese movies, games, TV dramas, etc. is always incredibly unrealistic (or at least horribly over-dramatized). I never quite got why that is... but I guess that's probably how mainstream culture works anywhere in the world.

Oh yeah, also, I guess my mom talks with over-exaggerated hand gestures... but I don't especially want to compare characters in video games to my mom.

Anyway..... back on topic... this game looks awesome and I want it.

This game looks awesome and it sounds more unique than the other upcoming wii rpgs, but its hard to decide which I'm most looking forward to out of this, xenoblade chronicles, the last story and Pandora's tower. I don't like the boxart though, it looks too cluttered.

hmm.. I posted this in another thread, thought I posted it here too...anyway, here goes:

If you guys are really serious about getting Earth Seeker localized you should do what I just did and register on XSEED's forums and reply to the thread about Earth Seeker and Rodea under the "Suggestions" section.
They have already stated in the forums that they have their eye on Earth Seeker and the more encouragement they get the better the chances of it happening,

Wii owners have already lost the battle for Tales of Graces, lets not lose another one!

Here's the first hour of the game:
[youtube:yv7E9oijq0c]
The poster of the video gave the graphics-7/10, the music-9/10, story-7/10 and gameplay-8/10. From the first hour, the soundtrack didn't seem that impressive so maybe it gets better later on. From the video, I can see why famitsu complained about the story and the lack of variation in weapons as well as their point on guardian attacks not going well together with your character's sword moves. The poster also compared to the game to Monster hunter, phantasy star and pikmin but pikmin is the only one of those 3 that I like. I hope this is still an enjoyable game for people who don't like Monster hunter and phantasy star as I like the look of this. Also, I hope you can change the clothes of the heroine. I also noticed that there were no male characters in that video, did all the men die when the ship crashed on that planet? If that happened then the humans won't survive on that planet for long unless they plan on getting mutated babies from the guardians be convincing them to do it with the booze that those guardians love or maybe they've developed a way for the same gender to have babies by that point in the future?
