Very much looking forward to this, I've only just become aware of its existence after years of hoping for an announcement.
Fingers crossed for at least a gameplay trailer at E3.

I pretty much forgot about Dragon Quest X. Would love to see something announced at E3.

I expect TGS to be the place for more news. Wouldn't be surprised if development decides to take a turn to their next console though.

I'm really hoping it'll be like DQIX-2
I loved how westernized it got without ever once betraying the world of Dragon Quest
Also, I wonder how many of the DQ puns actually carry over from Jap to English
Regardless, the localization work on the DQ games is brilliant

I honestly hope the abnadone the graphical style of IX and go with the simpler style of the DS remakes. Those were truly Beautiful. <3

But the quests and classes can stay. :3

I'm glad Nintendo and Square Enix are working together to bring DQ to the states and trying to make it more known than it ever was. Hope this partnership lasts. And hopefully, more people experience Dragon Quest.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't IX the same style as the remakes but with more 3D models and less sprites?

Really? I hope they bring back the DQVIII models. If anything, they should totally do cel-shading with this one.

I just want the battle system to be faster than IX. It's such a friggin pain to grind in IX — seriously, battles take like 10x longer than in the other DS games.

Someone hasn't played Pokemon Diamond and Pearl!
Hahaha, I personally thought IX had a good pace. Plus I think the animations are cool though I can see why you think it takes a long time.

Jeez you should play the first Final Fantasy on NES...I mean I just couldn't stand how slow it was. Was it just me or does anyone think the same?
Now I haven't played many 8-bit RPGs, but I thought i'd give it a try...big mistake for me.

Anyway on to the topic:
Now there was an article in Nintendo Power, one of the guys working on it, forgot who it was really, someone important involved no doubt....but anyway, he said we should hear more about it towards the end of the year.

Compared to the other Dragon Quest games it's really bad, the others are very fast paced making the grinding actually enjoyable. In IX you have to watch the characters move around and line up to other monsters which was really neat at first but really slows things down.

@Malkeor
I think the main problem with Final Fantasy was the "ineffective" problem where you party members would attack enemies that were already dead, that drove me nuts and really took time getting used to.

I dunno, the animations never got old to me. Plus the only DQ games I own are the 3D ones so I don't have much to compare.

Oh, my crap, I know. I almost gave up like 40x on that stupid game. In fact, I think I may have when I died because of that in the final dungeon
I'm glad Dawn of Souls fixed that. DoS was the epitome of enhanced ports done the way they should be done
