I've been thinking lately and I really can not stop thinking about one thing that would be so awesome . . . a new entry into the Donkey Kong Country series. I loved that series growing up as a little kid, and loved the music, if there was a soundtrack for that game then I would most definitely buy it. But anyways, how awesome would it be to have "New Donkey Kong Country"?

It would be cool.
However, if such a game would exist, I can't imagine what a David Wise-less soundtrack would sound like.

To each their own

I never knew the name of the guy who composed the game, now I do. Ha. Well I guess if we didn't have the original composer, the n the music obviously wouldn't be the same.

alot of the nintendo made snes games had a certain synth sound to them, that you just don`t get on any other games.
but, yeah. i think another DK country would be great, as long as it doesn`t steer to much from the original trio.

Exactly.

Good idea!

A DK platformer for the Wii would very much be welcome - but it would of course be without Rare as developer I guess. So potentially it could be a disaster... or even something amazing I guess.

Having Rare back as a developer for Nintendo on a big project like Donkey Kong Country would be awesome.

Mabbit

Donkey Kong Country hasnt really aged well to me. it would be better just to make a whole new DK series

I still love the original Donkey Kong Country and I got Donkey Kong Country 2 on my VC. I would love to see a new version maybe a WiiWare release that has 16 bit graphics. I know I am dreaming but it would be cool

I didn't get very far yet with the VC version of the first

Yeah. But MIcrosoft probably would never let them.

I've never really been a big fan of the SNES DKC franchise. There's just something cheap feeling about those games...I think it's because it feels and plays like an NES game but with unique amazing(at the time) 16 bit Graphics. I mean really, take a look at how Super Mario World played and controlled at the time, it's flat out complex and has much more depth than DKC. Even Miyamoto mentioned something simular about this...Anyways, all of that aside, I really did enjoy DC2 much more than the first. I Still havent played DKC3 yet

It's like a GameCube equivalent to DKC. But its better in more ways than one compared to DKC. I highly recommend Jungle Beat on the Wii (since it should be at retailers), for any DKC fan.

On topic now, yes seeing a new entry into one of my favorite series of gaming.
But we all know it won't happen any time soon.

Considering Rare's recent games, I imagine it`d be better off without them.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

Cool. I just picked up Muramasa, once I've beat that I'm gonna get Jungle Beat.

To be honest, I do think the DKC format as we know it, ended at the right time .

DKC - Diddy and Donkey, perfect.
DKC2 - Diddy + girlfriend to rescue Donkey.... good!
DKC3 - Dixie+ Kiddy to rescue Diddy and Donkey.... hmmm

Anymore in this vain and it would end up like an episode of bloody Eastenders. I can see it now;

DKC 20- Ziggy Kong and Orange Kong to rescue Pete Kong (Long lost relative of Uncle TT Kong)

In other words, yes let's get a donkey kong platform format of sorts going on the Wii, but with new ideas and a new developer.

I never thought about New DKC, but now that you bring it up, that would be really awesome. I guess I will have to just settle for Jungle Beat until then, though.
