I noticed something very odd today; there's not a single game from Konami on the Genesis/Mega Drive! We all know they put out some great games on the system like Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps. I wonder what the deal is... All of the other systems Konami supported back in the day have at least a few games from them on VC now. Well except of course the N64, but that's not surprising since there's almost no 3rd party games currently out for that system anyway. I wonder, do Sega and Konami have some bad blood now or something?
I don't think the lack of Konami games on the Genesis indicates that they have personal feeling towards the console...
Chillax, man, they'll come in time. I do agree though that they need to get off their high horse and release more games on the VC. We need Bloodlines on VC!
And Legacy of Darkness for the N64 needs a re-release too. I know everyone says Castlevania on N64 is utter crap, but Legacy of Darkness was actually pretty good. It was only the first Castlevania that was bad...
I hear Konami has challenged the Genesis to a fight after school by the bike rack. Now it's only a matter of if the Genesis shows up.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
They'll come in due times, well I think they well.
I hope you're right man. I really don't understand what Konami is doing with Contra. They release Super C, Contra III and Contra ReBirth, which is great, but where the hell is the original Contra? That's a classic.
Konami actually became developers for the Megadrive quite late in its life. I think their first games for it were Ninja Turtles, Tiny Toon Adventures and Sunset Riders, which were hardly the earliest games for the console. After that you obviously had your Rocket Knight, Castlevania and Contra games etc but thier Megadrive library isn't huge despite being awesome. I reckon they'll be saving them to release in succession - I'd expect Rocket Knight first.
Rocket Knight Adventures Sparkster Sunset Riders Tiny Toons Castlevania Bloodlines Contra Hard Corps TMNT Hyperstone Hiest all great games.
Now that you mentioned it it is strange that Konami hasn't released these Classic's especially Rocket Knight Adventures they could have released that a month before Rocket Knight.
Well, Konami's support for the VC in general has seemed to drop almost entirely this year. The last game from them released on the service was Rondo of Blood and that one doesn't really count since that was simply Nintendo releasing the game in other regions after it had already been on the Japanese VC for a long time. As far as I know they don't even have any games rated for the service right now. Doesn't really make any sense since surely most of their games have been some of the top sellers on the service. They better come back because they have too many great classics that still need to be brought back to life on VC.
You know, I'm just glad we managed to get Rondo. If I wanted to play some old stuff, I could maybe manage to find the cartridges if they were still around. But an old Japan-only PC Engine CD game? Never going to find or even be able to play that.
And Legacy of Darkness for the N64 needs a re-release too. I know everyone says Castlevania on N64 is utter crap, but Legacy of Darkness was actually pretty good. It was only the first Castlevania that was bad...
No... both were crap.
Says who. I've played 'em both and have had fun with Legacy of Darkness. They fixed pretty much every annoying thing with the original, including camera, controls, disproportionate enemy difficulty, irritating level layouts, etc. What makes Legacy a bad game?
But I don't know if Konami hate Sega, but I do know that Snake hates Sonic.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
