I do subscribe to Nintendo Power still and enjoy them very much. They get exclusive news and reviews before any body else here and there and they're previews are really in-depth. I've been subscribing for a few years now and have been enjoying every issue yet!

Just for you.

I'd never subscribed to Nintendo Power. Now that I'm out of my Game Informer subscription, would you people recommend that I subscribe to Nintendo Power?

I still subscribe to Nintendo Power. It's good because I can read it wherever I want, rather than have to be near anything that has an internet connection just to read an article. Sure, most of the news you probably heard of before the issue comes out, but magazine articles are willing to plunge into the game and reveal the game in depth.

And when I get too many, I keep them. You never know when you are older you happen to find your old collection of Nintendo Power magazines and start reading them, remembering back to when the Wii and DS were new. Heck, I found an old Game Informer issue from 3 years ago once, and I was looking all over it, looking through old articles about last gen systems. Besides, if you weren't going to keep them, you could sell them. People will pay a lot of money to complete their collections .

I'm pretty okay.

I just buy mine off the shelf. I have had subscriptions in the past but it's been a while. I have several issues. I'd never throw them out.

I was a subscriber way back. I doubt anyone here will believe me, but I even had a copy of the very first issue. Of course, I tore it to shreds flipping through it.

Nintendo Power was the first magazine I was a subscriber to, and read it cover to cover every month. I kept every single one of them for many years, before finally throwing them away to create room. Before anyone asks, none of them were in great shape, so even if selling them did cross my mind, I wouldn't have gotten much for them. Besides, that was in the day before the internet. Selling things were much tougher, lol.

Does anyone remember the old comic strips they had? There were two main characters; one was named Ned. There was another one, but when his real life counter-part quit Nintendo Power, only Ned remained. I forget the other guys' name. It' gonna bother me now...

Wasn't there a thread about this before?

Anyway, I never subscribed to Nintendo Power before, and never plan to. I've bought an issue every now and then off the shelf since the Gamecube era began, but I never liked the magazine enough to subscribe to them. The coverage was good, but the reviews were always way too generous, and some of the fans of that magazine are bat-f**k insane.

Sure wish I had some of those subscription bonuses though...

That is completely true. I wonder if NoA gives them a little "hint" on what score to give some games.

If you like Nintendo more than other consoles, you should suscribe.

By the way, you shouldn't throw them out, at least try to recycle.

I've always meant to subscribe, but never have. I do occasionally pick up issues off the shelves, though...

I was one of the original subscribers (actually going back to the Fun Club Newsletter days), but sadly no longer have the old issues (lost many years ago in some parental house cleaning). I've been a current subscriber again the past couple years, and would certainly reccommend it. Especially as the "big" game mags (Game Informer, etc) don't focus too much on Ninty.

I never subscribed but alwayst loved reading them back in the early days. I'm surprised they are still around, I thought there was talk about them pulling the plug in recent years.

For those talking about the comic have a look here:

I'm proud to say I've been a subscriber since 2005. It's easily my favorite read, and is the only source I trust outright on their reviews. I love the writing styles of the different writers, and they always give in-depth previews of games before anyone else. I have this kinda secret hope of writing for them someday... you know, after I'm done with school.
