I got the game yesterday and have been playing non stop. I must say though as much as I am enjoying it I have been breezing through it so far upto World 5. That isn't a complaint though as I still have to get some big coins in a lot of levels and it has been so much fun.

Well, I'm a bit disappointed. Here I am doing the online GAME pre-order for in-store pickup because

A. I figure like usual the RRP of £44.99 will be the in-store price
B. I figure the shop will get it promptly and I'll avoid potentially having a notice slip instead of a game pop through my mailslot.

Then I get to the shop to find

A. The online price of £34.99 is the same in the shop
B. My pre-order isn't there and I'll need to check back tomorrow

So basically I could have not pre-ordered it and used store credit to get the game for the same price I paid online and I'd only be out the double loyalty points. Plus I could have gotten the tin (though I don't really care about that).

Weak!

You should have pre-ordered for delivery Sean, I pre-orderedfrom GAME and got my copy with the tin delivered yesterday for £34.99. Can you not cancel your pre-order now and just buy it using your credit?

Damn, this game is hardcore. I thought the rotating-cogs-over-lava level in the various trailers would be world 3 at the very least. But, it's World 1-8? Jesus. I love this game :3

It's £32.99 at GamePlay... you know that, right? And it was £29.99 if you pre-ordered.

Anyway, I played right through to the World 7 Boss, now I'm going back to get all the coins and such, I will return to the final few worlds once everything has been tidied up.

And yes, it's hard. Certainly harder than World, which is a bit of a walkover, and probably harder than Bros 3, although that could be because it's shiny and new.

I don't have anyone to play with. Will it be like FSA, where it's far easier in multiplayer?

Its easier when you have 2 peeps, preferably an experianced player, but 3+ is hard.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Raylax

Well, that's odd. I just finished a level, but when Mario reappeared on the map, he did so without his hat. I don't recall losing it at any point in the level (I wasn't even aware you /could/), but I'm now playing a level in World 2 completely hatless. Anyone got any idea what triggers that?
You get your hat back if you die, too. Huh.

If you beat a level with 99 lives you lose the hat, if you die you get it back again.

Ah, that'd explain it. Wheee~

Thats pretty cool, time to start racking some lifes up to see this for myself.

Pretty nice game. Thank you Nintendo for making a hard game again!!!

I died alot, coursing all the time, but I always get extra lifes. I am always around 50 right now. It seems in every world I keep adding up my life level by 10... First World was 30, second world 40 and now in the third world 50... I never used the 99 lives trick, just collecting as much coins as possible.

I have a question, how do u unlock more movies in the castle. I only have one video for a level. But there are 5 more blank spaces for videos left. I haven't bought any yet. Do I need to buy the first movie for each level to get the other ones???

Thoughts are free, who can guess them?
They flee by like nocturnal shadows.
No man can know them, no hunter can shoot them,
with powder and lea...

Stevie

Not sure how this works but I never visited the castle until I reached world 6 and I had a lot of videos unlocked, but still some blank spaces, I think it mayhave something to do with the number of star coins you collect.

I had the Super Guide pop up on me yesterday. It made me feel...pathetic. I felt even more pathetic after I actually used it

Getting the star coins basically adds the difficulty but some of the levels are super hard, so getting Star coins in those levels makes for a very formidable experience on par with Super Mario Bros on NES.1UPS are easy to come by so If your good you may never see the "Game Over" screen , i haven't yet. This game blends the Mario games together very well and i consider it a classic. So far I've gotten up to level 4 with all coins collected minus the ship. I've unlocked world 5 and 6 though through the warp pipes and been trying those levels too.Great designs. I could breeze through the game but the fun is unlocking stuff so I'll play each stage over until i have found all of it's secrets. I've managed to get 95 mushrooms saved with my items collected by the mini game. Other suits are rare. I find myself Running through the first level on the first world to get a Propeller suit alot
