Just played some Chronos Twins and let me tell you its pretty cool. Its a platform game that you play on 2 seperate levels which are supposed to be 2 different time periods on your home world. You are there to try and take back your homeworld from the evil monster that came and destroyed most of it before some of your people escaped in space ships.
There are 2 options of controlling your character and while a little awkward at first you get used to it pretty quick. The game gets hard real fast as different parts of the game world are different in the 2 time periods and moves you make in one time period can kill you or hurt you in the other. You must stay alive in both time periods to move on.
You get a weapon upgrade fairly early and there are checkpoints spread out through out the levels. I say its a good game and worth the 1000 points if you like hard platform games.
IGN:Great bosses, impressive puzzles, and plenty of action. It may be an upgraded port, but if it's new to you it'll have you grinning from start to finish.
Well, thanks to IGN's review, the numerous solid reviews of the DS version, and my own affinity for 2D games, I just downloaded this. Thanks for nothing, fellow forum-goers
Played it for about 30 minutes so far, and it's lots of fun. I really like the gameplay, and the graphics are clean and appealing. Kinda annoying that it doesn't fill up the screen, but I can see it bothering others more than myself. To get a great-playing 2D game like this for $10 is fantastic.
So I got the game a few days ago and played an hour of it since. I'd say it is certainly a fun game, with some presentation roughness around the edges. The graphics don't slow down, and the simplistic graphics of the worlds work for the game, as you need to pay more attention to the activity than the details. I don't know how many areas there are (I'm in the middle of three, I think, need to check), but I assume the game is probably close to 3-5 hours long give or take.
Do not let the first few minutes (including the intro and intro stage) fool you. The game starts playing with your mind in more ways than you can think of. Puzzles start to arise as much as the action, and the game move smooth as silk through it all. Environments are unique, and the bosses are pretty cool, too.
I will say this, though: don't play it expecting to get relaxed from it. Expect it to make you more focused and strained. Not that it is bad in any way. Overall, from my impressions thus far: Chronos Twins DX is a very good small dev title with presentation issues saved many times over through high gameplay aspects. Recommended.
