They're probably preparing to release more Versions of Street Fighter 2 then.

Not that that would be a bad thing...

I don't think we've ever seen anything from the Street Fighter 2 era on VCA, have we? The one example game certainly looks much older.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

What are some good Capcom Arcade games? I didn't go to the Arcades much. Too expensive. Plus I had all the games I ever needed at home for free.

SonSon might be capcom's 8-bit start on vca like tecmo had with Star Force until they got to release Ninja Gaiden (16-bit). I think some games from the "street fighter era" might pop up someday given that capcom has one of the strongest 90's arcade catalog.

Yes, SonSon is among Capcom's oldest games. In Capcom Classics Collection for PS2/Xbox, they said the shooter Vulgus (released in 1984) was their first video game.
It's probably safe to say the Street Fighter II variants will be added.
Also the original Final Fight in its uncut form.
I think Strider's another fairly popular game, although I didn't care much when I tried it.
I have the collection, so I don't know how many VC games I'd personally download (as I don't expect many that aren't repeats).
But if I didn't have it, I'd probably hope for 1943, Black Tiger, Magic Sword.
Although there'd probably be a number of fans disappointed if Bionic Commando got added without the NES game (a different game, and is often considered superior).

Hopefully Capcom supports the VCA outside of Japan.

Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know.

A lot of the good ones were ported to the NES and SNES but games like Knights of the Round, Saturday Night Slam Masters, and The Punisher are just a few that we don't currently have available in some format on the VC. I'd personally like to see the good ported games transferred to the VCA.

This is promising. If this catches on to North America, then we'll probably have Marvel vs. Capcom!

I'm back (for the moment)!

Bass_X0

Nope. Marvel vs. Capcom would be too large of a game for VCA. Most advanced game we could expect to see is Street Fighter II Turbo.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I want Strider. Final Fight would also be great, but knowing Nintendo they'd insist on messing up the game with censorship outside Japan, just like the SNES and GBA versions...

I wanna play Mega Man: The Power Fighters. I've never seen that game in America, i think it was exclusive to Japanese Arcades.

Good thing I bought Zack & Wiki recently, otherwise i'd have no idea what SonSon is.

@Dragoon: They released it as part of the Anniversary Collection on Gamecube, X-Box, and PS2.

So far its just SonSon, which isn't particularly good, but I am hoping for greater support down the road. And I'd probably get SonSon anyways, too.

marvel vs capcom would be more difficult in terms of licensing issues. file size might be still in wii's capability (40 mbyte limit i think). in regards to final fight: the euro and na version's intro was censored in it's initial arcade release, so i don't think there would be any problem nintendo--censorship-wise

Yep, Final Fight's attract screen was censored in the arcade but Nintendo did worst in their console versions - 'Oh, my car!' and replacing the girls with some dodgy looking 'punk' character...

Well that's disappointing...

I don't think there's any early Capcom arcade game that I want that I don't have on a collection already. I'd download the last Muscle Bomber game if it ever was available - the 2D one-on-one fighter, not the original wrestler.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

Well consider me interested if they do something of actual value unlike Son-Son. You know like oh...1942, 1943, Commando, Bionic Commando, Strider, Gunsmoke, Ghosts n Goblins and Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Trojan, Megaman(yes 1 was an arcade game,) Black Tiger, Legendary Wings, Section Z, Tiger Road, and Willow just to name some good ones out of the 1980s.
