@Rowdy Exactly and I agree with you 100%. I have bought a lot of Capcom games over the years. Three on the Wii so far, RE 4, Okami and Spyborgs and have been extremely happy thus far. Cannot wait until Tats. vs. Cap and Monster Hunter hit the shelves.
@Objection_blaster: I'd like to get DSC but if it didn't do well it might go down some soon. Maybe I should wait now as I'd hate to pay the full price and have it go down immediatly(I was actually thinking about possibly using my 25$ giftcard to go toward this or SMWii. RE:UC is my fav rail shooter.)
@Adam It makes you wonder why they don't make a Wii Sports type game but make it Wii Arcade (or something like that) and make smaller games with the foundations of larger ones. Like make a Metroid Prime type game that lasts maybe an hour or so that shows people that tyope of game. Do a short RPG (make a side story to Earthbound and watch it sell like Modern Warfare 2) that shows what they are like- do that for the "hardcore" games that the "casuals" don't think they could get into and that would help move them past mini games and into full fledged game experiences. Couple it with a Classic Controller and a free nes download on the VC, sell it for 29.99 or 39.99 and you got your audience using everything that the Wii has and trying new things out.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
I don't really give a damn. I never liked Resident Evil, and I don't count Okami as a Wii game since it was on the PS2. Megaman 9 is a WiiWare game, and I don't like WiiWare games, or Megaman. MH3 looks cool, but if you have to pay for online then screw that. I have never even heard Tatsunoko or whatever it is called, so I won't be getting Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Other than what I have listed, what else have they brought so far? Capcom just isn't a good match for the Wii.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Hope the people of Capcom America don't think the same, after all Monster hunter tri sold really well in Japan http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/monster-hunter-3-is-ja... plus there's a lot of hype for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. By the way, since when rail shooters are best sellers? Resident evil darkside chronicles is an ok game in that genre, not a masterpiece like Elemental Gearbolt. The same thing could be said for Spyborgs if you compare it to other beat'em up.

Rowdy, I may reply to that more at length later on in a separate thread so as not to derail this thread, which is interesting in its own right and will probably go on for awhile. But while I'd personally like that idea, I don't think it's the solution. Game length isn't the problem with Wii Fit gamers. They don't even know how long Prime 3 or Earthbound takes. It's the game concepts themselves that don't appeal to them -- shooting aliens, fighting via text commands. I'm not sure there really is a solution that fits Nintendo's goals. I think they've misdiagnosed the audience problem, but that'll have to wait for another topic.
I've got my Tatsunoko vs. Capcom preordered... but besides Zack and Wiki, that will be my only other Capcom game for the Wii (not including VC games). Monster Hunter looks like something I'll try - but as for most of their other 'hardcore' titles, those just don't interest me.

Wii users bought Umbrella Chronicles expecting that the sales would make Capcom create a True RE game. Even with its flaws we accepted it like an appetizer. Then RE4 came and we were more excited for the future..but instead they gave us ANOTHER On rail shooter? Of course people would be dissapointed.
And guys, stop using Zak and wiki and Okami as success measures. Those are weird quirky games and only ahandful people like them point and clic adventures are niche and Okami even sold worst in the Playstation 2.
Wii gamers want the real thing (Resident evil 5, street fighter 4) not niche games (Zak and wiki), mediocre games (Spyborgs) and dirty ports (dead rising). Monster Hunter 3 and (maybe) Tatsunoko vs Capcom seems like the answer but it took too long to come.
But whatever. I lost my faith on 3d parties and the way they approach the wii. What do they want? to buy their mediocre games blindly? we don't that even with Nintendo games, what makes them think will do that?
If they want to stop making games, that's their doom. I am happy with my Wii and don't regret to have buy it. Is their lost, not mine. It would be great to have the same respect that the HD machines are having. But if they have roast beef while we have french fries, is logical that we will be upset with them and not support them.
Of course M-Rated titles won't sell on Wii, I was at Gamestop for a while and most people in the Wii section don't take a glance at M-rated titles, and instead look at crap mini game collections like "Pirates: The Hunt For Blackbeard's Booty" (I bet that game was made in a week.) just because it says "Pirates"
Okami has a lot wester influence, a very stylized art style and is way much slower and text heavy that Twilight Princess. And TP only sold to Zelda fans and is one of the zeldas that sold less than the others.
Personally I like Capcom's UBC shooter. There's alot to it. Of course some people may not realize this. I think I was worried about that rhen I bought the first one and seeing how fun it was and how much i played it I want the sequel. This is worth closer to fifty bucks than most rail shooters.

I enjoyed UC as well, and would not mind trying out DC, but I wouldn't mind a TPS, either. =) That's one reason I'm lookin' forward to Monster Hunter Tri! =D Game seems to be right up my alley.
EDIT: I know MH Tri isn't a TPS, but it's in third person.
Okami is basically Twilight Princess. How is that niche?
If we are speaking chronologically: Twilight Princess is basically Okami... only nowhere near as good as Okami.
To all those yelling about getting Resident Evil on-rail shooters instead of a proper sequel for the Wii: Resident Evil 5 was arguably pretty bad (especially when measured against RE4 and even against other horror franchises, ie. Dead Space) so enjoy the decent rail shooters and be happy Capcom didn't decide to go all Activision and "Reflex" the already mediocre RE5. I love Capcom but they already released overpriced crappy ports of the GameCube Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 for the Wii so even I wonder about their Wii strategies.
