Topic: Can Wii Please Get RE5?

resident evil 4 doesn't push the wii to it's limits anymore than putting any gamecube disc into the system does. it was simply a port of the GC version with wii controls added in, as well as a few of the extra features from the PS2 version; there are no graphical improvements or technical upgrades to the core game whatsoever. because of this, you can't judge whether the wii can handle RE5 by looking at RE4 since 4 is not a wii game and gives no indication of what the system is capable of; people who say that the graphics gap between RE4 and 5 is too big for the wii to close are comparing the GAMECUBE to the 360 and PS3 rather than the wii.

i'm sure that the wii could handle a single player port of RE5 that, while not looking as real as the PS3/360 version, would still look better than RE4. the co-op is the thing that really kills the port, if the conduit is any indication, the wii can't handle multiplayer in games that already push the system's limits in single player. re5 was designed to be played with 2 people and the single player mode just isn't as fun, so a port right now probably wouldn't be worthwhile. maybe on the HD wii, if that ever comes out.

My burnout memory may be wrong, but i believe the answer to both questions is yes. In truth, i spent far more time with the main game than the side-stuff, but as far as i remember the save slots are the same as you guessed, and the weapons carry over (although i'm less sure about the weapons issue).

I wouldn't really care. Besides if it were to be ported to the Wii the controls would be the only thing better from the 360/PS3 version.

probably in 2010 november or 2011 like activision did with modern warfare.

p.s. the screens for mw wii look horrible though
