Was wondering if anyone took the plunge? Seems good to me, especially given the multiplayer modes. I think it could do almost as well as Jungle Speed, personally. How does it fare, though?

My only question is: what does this game have to do with poker? It looks more like Battle Sudoku!

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm trying to figure out from the photos and movie how the game works. I think I've got an idea of it now.

@Sean
It doesn't look like Battle Sudoku! ***laughing***

It looks like you've got a time limit that you need to position the cards on the board to make the best poker hands possible for the most points. You've got the CPU to face off which is nice if you don't have someone to play against.

It will be interesting to see a review from the guys here since I'm done with Gamespot, IGN. 1up, etc for anything Wii related.

The shots I've seen just show coloured tiles with numbers on them -- where's teh poker?

@Sean
The first pictures show colored titles which are equivalent to the suit. Then the numbers are letters correspond to the card type.

For instance T = Ten J = Jack.

It looks like you're trying to line up the cards to make various poker combinations. Having all Red Cards A through T would give you a Royal Flush. It says something about getting the 5 best hands in the time limit specified. So you have that entire grid to work with by moving the cards around to make the various combinations.

One of the other pictures show regular cards thankfully. So it could be just the back ground that changes how things look.

There are multiple game modes particularly in multiplayer. That's probably why you got confused. The game doesn't seem like an "ordinary" poker game and that's why I think it could be good.

I'm getting very close to giving this game a chance blindly.

Who's giving the review for this anyway? I don't even think anyone's even picked this up other than the reviewer. I would get it myself if I had the points as I have a good feeling about it.

Look for the review this weekend. (Circumstances beyond NL's control have delayed it slightly.) As for who's doing it, I'm not supposed to say, but I think it's the guy who killed Chicken Ceasar.

Well, I'd appreciate at least some kind of indication as to how the game fares to hold us off till then. Something to give us a hint on the verdict would be appreciated.

I think this game is going to get a low score, but I could be wrong.

All I'm asking for is some impressions since it seems like no-one else has tried to take the plunge on this one.

I'll say exactly what I said about Incoming: it's probably wise to wait for the review.

That said, I'm happy to report that this game is no Incoming.

I know you're all dying for this, so be glad to know that I'm proofreading it as we speak, and I'll submit it for approval tonight.

Nice, CB. It'll be interesting to hear what you think of it.
I just tried the game and it's okay so far. Not as good as Jungle Speed but it can hold its own from what I've played.

The multiplayer modes. Can you play those 3 game modes against the CPU?

You had a good reivew CB.
I think this is something that I'd probably be into since it's not Poker per say, but a puzzle variant of it.

If you have a 360, did you ever try Poker Smash on XBLA? It was like a puzzle game with poker matching elements.

@DXZeke:
Thanks man. I hope it didn't come off as too negative, as there's a lot of good in the game...it's just that it's definitely not for everybody.

Intercepting your question to KS8, no, you can't play the multiplayer modes against the CPU. The option to play them won't even be available unless two or more Wiimotes are active.

That was a great review Philp.
