@SKTTR.... yeah thats just it, bad balance. Wonder what it is I have that lets me be able to skateboard and surf?
Its called having a job and gettting home from work and being tired and well my job (shipbuilding) is extremely physical. I dont need to work out and standing on a board to play games (cool idea), just not for me.
My Mother In Law on the other hand has been doing her Wii Fit Workouts everyday since she got the dang thing. Great for her, I saw. On to play Monster Hunter Tri for me. lol.
Yeah you have a good point there I forgot to mention. When I get home from a hard job I wouldn't be keen to play any Balance Baord games too.
Well, I'm playing Wii Fit Plus and Monster Hunter Tri at the moment - alternating of course.
@SKTTR, I have to ask, how do you play Tetris with the balance board? The idea intrigues me.
It's really easy. Balance left/right to move the blocks left/right and crouch a little to turn the blocks. Balance to the rear for letting the blocks fall faster. Feels very intuitive and is a great fun way of playing Tetris! It's so easy that you might want to speed it up in the options a little to have a sweat.
As a piece of hardware I rather like the Balance Board. Responsive, interesting, intuitive to use. These are all good things, right? But I can't say that it's overrated because (a) it's very expensive, (b) it has very limited software support, and (c) is simply isn't versatile enough to maintain interest from most gamers and developers.
Ok, points (b) and (c) might be related - maybe with better software people would be more interested in making use of Balance Board on a regular basis.... but I still believe it's a gimmick controller that does a couple of things very well and not much beyond that. (Being a gimmick isn't bad. I love gimmicks! But I view the Balance Board much like I do the DK Bongos from last generation.)
So while I do think the accessory is under used, I don't think it is underrated at all. (The Balance Board is quite fun though, with supporting games like Wii Fit Plus, Tetris Party, Shaun White Snowboarding, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, and Marble Saga Kororinpa all happily part of my collection.)

For what it's worth, I was a little bit disappointed in balance board Tetris. I wanted to play full-sized Tetris instead of using over-sized blocks and a tiny playing area... or maybe even allow two Balance Boards for competitive play. It's a neat idea, but more a novelty than a serious game mode.

Sort of what I expected. Sounds like it could be fun, maybe I'll try it tonight after some yoga!
I love the Balance Board, but I haven't found a game that uses it in a way that interested me. The few games that I did try with it didn't implement it very well. Wii Fit Plus does an amazing job with it, though.
Balance board Tetris indeed sounds like a cool concept. Not running out and buying a board again, but next time I'm at familys home, might have to give it a download. Pick up and play game styles are in fact good for the Balance Board, but a Zelda game with 70 plus hours on it.... don't think so. I'm already looking a a future knee replacement, I don't feel like rushing it lol.

Yeah, it won't work for a mainstory single player experience but it should work for mini games, challenges, side quests, that sort of thing. Probably not going to happen though. I will continue to enjoy it with what's currently available for a long time on the other hand.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
Wii Fit Plus is a fantastic little package, and set on the WSR island for a nice tie-in. Wii Music's balance-board drum mode is also incredibly rewarding once you get accustomed to the setup. Those two games alone justify the additional hardware for me.
I've not, however, picked up anything else to capitalize on the board, although I often consider something like a Shaun White game just for kicks, particularly given how enjoyable the snowboarding, skateboarding, and skiing bits are in Wii Fit Plus.
