I highly recommend Onslaught, Water Warfare, and Overturn.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Can't miss WiiWare games: Toki Tori Swords & Soldiers Mega Man 9 World of Goo Bit. Trip Beat and Core Bonsai Barber LIT The Three Muskateers Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord Final Fantasy IV: The After Years NyxQuest
Swords and Soldiers gives you a lot for your money, definately the best deal. Onslaught is fun but story mode is insanely difficult on anything higher then easy. Get it for online and leaderboards. I'd also like to recomend Helix, since it hasn't gotten much attention. It's pretty solid if you enjoy rhythm/exercise games. For $10 you get 26 tracks, most of which are pretty cool. There's only one mode, though.
This might sound odd, but if you want a billiards game go with Midnight Pool. I never tried the Hudson version, albeit it is cheaper, but I do enjoy Gameloft's take.
If you enjoy puzzles and don't own it in another form, Dr. Mario Online Rx is a must-have. I loved the NES original, but the Wiimotet-using mode is all I ever play it for.
My other two mentions would be Megaman 9 and World of Goo. (Cave Story ... if it ever comes out)

In EU both are the same price. I would go for the Hudson CueSports: Snooker vs Billiards, because it's online and I like to play as my Mii. Plus it has Snooker and I trust Hudson more than Gameloft, though Gameloft's TV Show King is a very fun and polished game.
I think I will buy another Gameloft game soon - but never Sexy Poker. Again, Texas Hold'em Tournament is online and has Mii support and leaderboards, for the same price so... I'd like to try Gameloft's Brain Challenge. Any opinions on that one?
@SKTTR (28): Brain Challenge isn't too bad I wouldn't call it essential, but it will wile away maybe 3 or 4 hours before you get tired of playing the same games. It's pretty much on par with most training games but I found it more interesting that Brain Training or Big Brain Academy. I suggest you give it a try if you like that sort of thing.
First you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women.
Mega Man 9. One of my favorite Mega Man games ever.
Ditto, along with Overturn and Bit Trip Beat
Those aren't Mega Man games...
Mega Man 9 and World of Goo. All you need is those two and you should be good to go. But if you feel like experimenting some more, Toki Tori, Art Style: Orbient, and Bubble Bobble Plus! are also excellent choices.

I know I was mentioning other Can't Miss Wiiware games.
I'm on the fence about Crystal Defenders R1 and R2 and Darklord. I liked them all, but... CDR1 was too short and too easy. CDR2 is just too short and shows not much new stuff (but it's harder).
Darklord is too expensive with 6700 Wii Points for the complete game. The DLC is overpriced all the way. The basic game (1000 WP) feels cut with all those lose-ends on the map, and the few monsters you can spawn. You need at least all the extra monsters, stages and floors DLC to make the game feel complete
That is:
1000 WP - Darklord
500 WP - Monster Pack 1
500 WP - Monster Pack 2
200 WP - Monster: Kain
200 WP - Monster: Palom
500 WP - Extra Stages 1
500 WP - Extra Stages 2
300 WP - Extra Floors 1
400 WP - Extra Floors 2 A total of at least 4100 Wii Points.
I'm with you on Crystal Defenders, SKTTR but wth are you talking about with the DLC on My LIfe as a Darklord?
I've almost completed the game and all I've downloaded is one set of items and even then I can see where I'm going wrong with the levels I use them in. I don't feel short-changed by the base game either - it's lasted me a hell of a lot longer than most WiiWare (possible exceptions being My Life as a King, Bubble Bobble Plus and Swords and Soldiers.
I guess the need for DLC depends on how determined you are to complete the game quickly - personally I don't mind being defeated for the 10th time on a level but I can see why the DLC might come in handy when things get frustrating. The only reason I'll buy DLC for Darklord is to add to replay value once I've completed the main game without. Can't wait to finish it so I can complete the other DLC levels.
@odnetnin: Defend Your Castle is not a must-have. tbh it's veeery repetitive.
@ calculon: What I mean is, Darklord would feel incomplete to me when I hadn't downloaded some monsters and stuff. They add a lot to the game, but they're too expensive. Of course the basic game is good value but they could have fit everything else in there, too and charge 1500 for the full game.
If you like adventure games, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is good if you're into the source material. I've only played the new Monkey Island game on the PC, but I loved it--fits in very nicely with the rest of the series.
