@Order-SolLooking at the current pricing of the Wii, we do not want to be there December 22 2011, when the Wii was 150$. What they mean is they don't want another 3DS case, where prices have to drop. The rumored 300$ price tag seems much more reasonable.

You're right, I misread it somehow. Guess it happens when you get 3 hours of sleep. So this is good news then. So it won't be higher than $300 at least.
I'm with the last poster. If it's truly more powerful than the other HD consoles, I can't see it being less than $350, given that the controller adds cost.
the 360 is only $200 and it's controller alone costs $60. the wii u is supposedly 2x as strong which (if true) is near the power increase the wii held over the gamecube and the controller probably isn't expensive enough to cost more than $100. the system also has no hard drive and doesn't use blu ray. considering that nintnedo got a hard kick in the *** with the 3DS pricing, i don't think $300 is out of the question. $350 sounds like the sweet spot though.
300 is my guess, but nintendo does always price systems too high, so maybe even 400... too much for me

@ClaytonLuigi The Wii price drop happened LAST YEAR. It was like 200$ for the longest time. The 3DS is the ONLY gaming system from Nintendo that underwent a forced price drop.
@ZeroX no the first one, wasn't it around 250? then there was a huge price drop? (or am i wrong, I'm tired today...)

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but EB Games AU has advertised Wii U at a price of $598 AU for a while now, which (for some riduclous reason) translates to roughly $350 US in the games industry. I'm not completely sure about the reliability of this price (hasn't been confirmed by Nintendo), but it seems better than some random guy's estimate on the internet.

Haha, sorry about that, I just coudn't be bothered reading through all the comments when most of them just seemed to be guesses. I assumed that those estimates meant they hadn't heard about it and had no other reliable news to go on, so it was worth a shot.
