Topic: Wii U price?

the Wii U is for $599(Australian dollar), pre-ordered...
At this price, I will never be buying this, or asking it from my mum. So, what do you guys think?

Price is still TBA esp the Australian price so I wouldn't take it too seriously. Also $600 is way too high IMO, the PS3 goes for $330AU and the Xbox + Kinect bundle goes for $370 so I'd expect something ~$400-500AU. $600AU is just asking for units to sit on the shelves and, taking into account the "Australia tax", would translate to something like a $400US launch.

Bordering on PS3 launch prices.... that'd be almost DOA especially if it's not orders of magnitude more powerful than the PS3 and 360.

I think for Australia, the cheapest it'll be will be $400 and the most expensive will be $600.
I won't mind too much if it's $600, considering it's something that I plan to use for several years.
I've already paid $300, and as soon as I know the official price I'll start trying to pay the rest.
If it's only $400 then that's great, because that's just $100 more and then I can start focusing on games.

Nintendo won't reveal the price until months after E3. Any retailer price is just a placeholder at the moment — don't read too much into it.

I have a friend whose uncle works at Nintendo and he said that the price will be $749.

I heard it was going to be a Cheep Cheep price of $999.

But seriously, I heard it won't cost more than $300 from another Nintendo site that heard that from a developer.

Anyways, $300-500 sounds about right.
