Does anyone think Nintendo will update the Wii mode for the Wii U?
I think the two big updates would be allowing you to view the screen on the gamepad and using the gamepad / pro controller as a classic controller. Perhaps even allow the player to touch the screen to simulate pointing at the screen and pressing A.

Actually I hope so, I've always thought about what if they ditched the motion for motion games, and was trying to think how it would work, but I go to the step of transfering my console games to 3DS which would be great, although I think some games could just use traditional no touch controls and work just fine, also make the Nintendo WiFi games to be updated to Nintendo Network
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
Then the Wii would be forward compatible I guess... It really would be cool, and give even Wii owners more reason to upgrade if they think the new features are cool on the new console plus the old. I doubt it will happen though. Is iPhone 1 even able to be updated anymore?
1. Get rid of it. Make Wii Games play from the Home Menu like the Gamecube games did on the Wii.
2. Allow the GamePad to be used as a Classic Controller.
3. Make Wii games playable with the GamePad alone. The GamePad's sensor bar would be perfect for this. Games with Classic controls could use either the GamePad itself or a classic controller.
4. Make VC games playable on the GamePad.
5. Don't do the Backwards compatible system the 3DS has with DS games. Allow the Home Menu functionality with Wii games as well (accessing Miiverse, the Internet, the eShop, Friend List, etc while playing Wii games.)
6. (This one might be impossible...) Make the Friend Codes connect to the NintendoNetwork ID. Instead of sending out the Wii Friend Codes to other Wii U owners with the same game, you send the Wii U friend code (or Nintendo Network ID) and it traces it to the proper game. For other Wii users, you still give them the games' friend codes.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
They'll only do these things on a VERY rainy day, if at all. It's not like they don't know how, or why people want it. They just focus on what's going on now, and leave the past behind with these sort of things.
^ I don't care about the crap everybody else wants up there ^
If you're waiting for those things to happen be prepared to be ultimately disappointed... But one thing we can all agree on and look forward to is dat VC just bloody hurry up with that shiznit please, I'm hanging by my balls waiting for it.

Notice how with every new system that comes out, many fans only worry about how the old stuff will work
Here's a simple solution: keep your Wii.

Exactly. Same goes for GCN on Wii. Having GCN support on Wii was cool for sure, but many Wii consoles out there don't even have GCN hookups anymore, so just consider all of yourselves with a GCN BC Wii lucky. I've said this probably a bunch of times, but Super Smash Bros. 4, Mario Kart, a 3D Mario, etc, are gonna come out soon, and you're going to have to play those w/o a GCN remote. Just a heads up.

Really? Does anyone really think that they'll be able to use a gamecube controller?

That's the point @DudeSean No one thinks that BTW, because it's impossible w/o a hack, but I seriously feel like people criticising the Wii U for advancing their current gaming experience by leaving the GCN behind completely, are stuck in another dimension or something. We all loved GCN. It's gone, and Wii U is here. Enjoy it.
I've even been playing Smash Bros. Brawl lately with the classic controller pro. It's super easy to adapt to surprising, considering I've been playing Smash Bros. w/ a GCN controller for over 10 years now. I do just as good with the classic controller pro.
