If you were going to get one of the Lego games, which one would you get?

Everyone seems to really like Lego City Undercover, but Marvel Heroes got higher reviews.

Lego City: Undercover, absolutely - that's a really unique Wii U LEGO game. What probably reduces the review scores for Lego City: Undercover is the loading times, when loading a new world or mission. Those loading times are looooong. And it's single player, which Marvel Heroes isn't. (But the whole point of the Lego City: Undercover is the dual screen single player experience.)

Further inquiry: If you were going to get some of the more mature games on Wii U, what games would you consider? Deus Ex? Either of the ACs?

Currently Playing: Dragon Age: Inquisition

I would choose Deus Ex over ANY of the AC games, any day. Darksiders 2 is on sales for $10 still, I think. I gather it's pretty decent.

Darksiders 2 is a pretty weak port. The best mature games on Wii U are obviously Bayonetta 1 & 2, but from the ones mentiond definitely Deus Ex. If you need a AC then get ACIII, ACIV is a very weak port(like Watch Dogs).

I may be getting a Wii U soon and I'm planning on getting a bundle with either Mario Kart 8 or Mario 3D World. I would plan on getting two other First party games to start off but can't decide what to get. Some games I'm interested in are:
. Super Smash Bros Wii U (I already own the 3DS version but it makes a great party game)
. Pikmin 3
. Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
. Hyrule Warriors
. Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
Any suggestions would be helpful.

3DS is my favorite game console
Fire Emblem: Awakening is one of my favorite games.

Tough choices. All these are great, so they should all be played at some time, so it comes down to your personal taste. My only advices could be to point out the similarities/differences, in case you want to start with maximum diversity or something:

  • Tropical Freeze and SM3DW are both platformers (although very different)
  • Hyrule Warriors and Super Smash U are both really long games compared to the others, if you'll want to complete everything in the game.
  • Wind Waker and Pikmin 3 have a slower pace than the others.
  • MK8 and Smash U have online multiplayer
  • Wind Waker is the only game that can only be played as single-player.
  • MK8, SM3DW and Smash U are more "party games" than the rest in your list.

If you want to play the multiplayer modes in Pikmin 3, you need a Wiimote+Nunchuck specifically for the second player (I prefered to play that way in the main campaign as well, with the Gamepad as a separate communication device).

Should I get:
Bayonetta 2
Pikmin 3

I have not played any of the installments in either franchise.

I haven't played Bayonetta 2 but Pikmin 3 is amazing. It has great visuals, a relatively engaging story, and fun gameplay. You should try it out!

Currently playing: Bayonetta 2

There's absolutely no problem playing Pikmin 3 without having played any of the previous Pikmin games. Before playing Bayo 2 however, it's best to play Bayo 1 (=make sure to get an edition with both Bayo 1+2).

Are there any other games like Child of Light for the wii U, except not an RPG? I'm referring to the artful and poetic atmosphere the game creates. Thanks.

The only one I can think of that even has a distinct art style is Teslagrad. Its story is also told through story boards and gameplay.

"Teslagrad", absolutely.

And "Tengami" (that game is all about atmosphere).

Perhaps "The Swapper" could fit the description as well, although the atmosphere is more SciFi.

Guacamelee is my favorite eshop game on either system. I've played a ton of them as well. Great balance of Metroid exploration and combat. The fighting is also nicely done as well.

Child of Light is also excellent and even though it's an rpg it's not too difficult on normal. That's way I'm playing it on hard.

Teslagrad is fun if far to short. I wanted a more action style game so Guacamelee was more my style.

Castlestorm is also excellent. They did a great job of balancing the gameplay.

And of course Shovel Knight and Steamworld Dig but those are also available on the 3ds.

Personally, ZombiU is one of my favorite games on Wii U. It has some problems but it is a fantastic experience.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I never had any problems with Zombie U. I liked the combat and thought it looked beautiful. I got it a while back for 8$ New at Best Buy and it was 8$ well spent.
