Yeah, around 500k, but I kinda doubt it will make it, considering most Nintendo gamers are unfamiliar / uninterested in the franchise.....the fact that Nintendo is publishing the title seems to be more of a thank you to it's more mature / core crowd, however small that may be.
probably if i buy it, thats like putting my signature on it.

Thanks for the comments thus far. Here is why i predict 600k. The gaming media in general is positive about the release, the buzz seems to be good.. If Nintendo actually advertises this game like Mario Kart 8 and has decent online play it will surpass 500k no issue. Also since the first Bayonetta is included it makes it that much harder to say no!
This was basically Pikmin 3's sales pre-Mario Kart, and no one other than hardcore Nintendo fans care about Pikmin (sad but true).
I'm gonna say 1.5-2 million lifetime sales is what the game will get, unless of course Wii U sales don't see a (more) significant increase by the Holiday season. Between Nintendo and digital sales and having 2 games for 1 and it being one of the 2 games that'll make other console fans jealous (it and Xenoblade) and long-term lifetime and digital sales...I think this is fair. It has a lot more going for it than most Nintendo games.
Of course I'll be surprised if it reaches 1 million before the end of this year too.
And assuming Bayonetta is as good as people have said, having 2 of them should mean it does double my expectations. In a fair world at least.
Also, people were just as hyped about The Wonderful 101 and that ended up selling like 200k copies.
again, false. Very few people ever cared about that game.
Absolutely false. The coverage on that game was immense. Both prior and post release.
no it wasn't. I'll grant you the Nintendo Direct but otherwise very few people outside of THE MOST hardcore NIntendo or Platinum fans talked about. And a single Direct was not enough when it came with the announcement of a demo that turned most people off of a game that was a really difficult sell in the first place.
The problem is that Nintendo can't market Bayonetta 2 as extensively as other games. Nintendo is known for being family friendly, and Bayonetta is far from that. Nintendo is going to have find other alternative, yet effective methods to advertise the game. Including the first Bayonetta was a very good step. I think a Bayonetta 2 Direct would help as well.

We do need to acknowledge that W101 also launched during the Wii U "dry spell" (that's a whole other convo, though), so it did have millions of people apparently dying for a new game to supposedly help it out and it still did poorly.
But that being said, Bayonetta has WAY more of a following than people seem willing to acknowledge. Maybe because this is a Nintendo-centric website, but you guys do know that Bayonetta has pretty healthy following, right? Like ... REALLY healthy. Go check out any platform agnostic website like IGN or something, and click on any story about Bayonetta 2. I guarantee you'll find scores and scores of comments from people pledging to buy a Wii U JUST for this game. And if you take that as just a small sampling of its fan base ... I think 500k is lowballing this one. Maybe it won't sell 1.5mil, but 500k? You're not giving it enough respect.

Though I will say if Bayonetta 2 sales do disappoint, I am probably going to rant angrily at Nintendo fans (or maybe Nintendo, but they seem to actually think this game matters, unlike their treatment of Wonderful 101) for the next year.
I'll be shocked if it gets 600K. It'll probably be closer to 200K. Pretty sure it sold 1.5million lifetime across ps3 and 360. Hopefully Im wrong and wiiu owners buy this game.
2 million lifetime for total Bayo1 sales. Just checked.
for the record, I would be less sure about this if they didn't include the first game. That will help a ton to get people who never played the original (read: Nintendo fans) to get it and Bayonetta fans are pretty hardcore and adore the game and will buy it somehow, someway.
So unless Nintendo's hardcore and Bayonetta fans are frequently one and the same, I think it'll be fine.
1. You are interested in Bayonetta 2 now, but wasn't interested in Wonderful 101 up to and including launch.

#3 here.
On topic, my expectation's are set low, only because I'd rather be surprised than disappointed.

I'm just kind of broke. I was planning on buying Rayman, W101, and Sonic, but other things came along. I would buy all those games if I had more money. Bayonetta 2 is different, though. TBH, Wii U can only really appeal to Nintendo and Xbox fans at this point,
If Xbox One fans are willing to buy an Xbox One for Scalebound, or just Scalebound in general(if they already have an Xbox One), then they should be willing to buy games like Devil's 3rd and Bayonetta 2. Everyone's always b****ing about how Nintendo never has the "mature" games, defined by blood, gore, sexual themes, etc, so if people don't buy those games, all those people are technically talking out their s***er. Truth.
I hope this game sells well, and i really hope not to hear wiiu owners saying they don't have games to play to keep them busy until smash bros comes out.Which they have a game to play, well not one though but two in one package.
