Topic: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - OT

The lag keeps throwing me off...and makes it super easy for others to figure out what I'm trying to do...bleh. T.T

Participated in Nintendo Life's tournament. Everything was going great, until the 4th match when things got laggy. I was dissapointed that it's not really a tournament, and more along the lines of "Get points to win!", though.

It's a tourney, not a tournament. lol

...I thought tourneys were just these little things we've been setting up, and tournaments are those big grid things. >.>

I won a tourney for the first time! It was a For Fun tourney as there was no free For Glory ones at the time, got too lucky on Flat Zone X.

Holy ****, I'm banned from Tourneys for 40 minutes for leaving the match. WTF Nintendo.

That match was pretty fun, though I had no idea Yoshi's Ground Pound could do so much knockback to Shield Shulk lol.

@NightmareEater Well, A) It could be seen as you using it as a way to avoid losing. B) It inconveniences those who are in the match.

This out of no where, but does anybody have any idea how close Smash 4 is to being hacked so you can use texture hacks for characters? I had some ideas haha

So in the long run, is the tournament mode even worth using? In Mario Kart 8, I enjoy just vs.. races online while the Tournament modes look like a huge mess. It appears that way in Smash Bros.

I was hoping more we would just be able to have lobbies like in most fighting games and Smash would give us a win/loss record in For Glory modes, and maybe a spectator mode in the lobbies as we wait our turn.... like in a regular fighting game.

I don't understand their reasoning behind those tournaments. What is the point really? They just seem like an extensions of private lobbies with your friends. Does winning lobbies even get noted in a rank or record of some sort? Is there any way to differentiate that player A has ore wins over Player B?

Even in Mario Kart, they have the coin thing going.

@Cheesehead302 I think hacking is something you'd want to keep to yourself here.

Why can't I join the NL tourneys? I type in the password, but it's not letting me. Does the creators of the tourneys block me for some reason?
