I don't the date would automatically debunk that leak, dates change, especially around things like E3. We'll know soon enough anyway.

Wait, so how does this work? Is there a live stream? Or a Nintendo Direct that is broadcast at E3 then immediately watchable online?
I know Palutena, Pac-man and Miis were confirmed last year along with the invitational.
Palutena and the Miis were in the DigitalEvent, Pac-Man was announced at the Round Table
Mii costume announcements to go with the Splatoon and K K Slider ones, maybe another good one or two and the rest being misc. crap like Bunny suit or something
DLC character reveal (possibly Ryu)
DLC stage announcements for both versions
Some sort of amiibo news, whether it be a restock announcement or Wave 5 date or something
MAYBE another DLC character announcement for a more distant release, but I'm not going to hold my breath for this one. Just a best scenario situation
So E3 basically begins with the Smash presentation, followed by Lucas/Miiverse stage/Inkling Mii Fighter costume release and then the Nintendo World Championships before the conferences begin. Great way to set the stage for E3 by getting people hyped Nintendo!
I'm still holding out hope that we 3DS owners will finally see Special Smash, but at this point it's just a pipe dream. It still feels like a glaring omission. It's not like it can't handle it! To this day I don't underdtand why it was left out.

Well, you were only half right as this presentation is part of Nintendo's E3 plans
E3 is making the Lucas release in Japan interesting. The presentation is at 11:40pm and Lucas releases at midnight. I got work the next morning! The whole week Nintendo in Japan is on LA time.
