@DarthNocturnal: I understand, sadly I couldn't really tell it was coming from the GamePad, I guess other than being able to clearly hear them over the game music. It didn't really add anything, but maybe later levels it comes through better.
Does anyone know if you get anything special from the Star Fox Guard Special Demo that is offered through Star Fox Zero? Just wondering if I should bother downloading it since I plan on buying the game no matter what, when I get paid.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Please continue to hype up and enjoy this game with complicated control mechanics which I will never touch not in a million years!! Still waiting for a proper SNES StarFox sequel where the Arwing is an advanced starfighter, not an ordinary airplane coming straight out of some flight sim game...
Well I played through the first training missions for the walker, gyrocopter and landmaster as well as 4 missions.
The controls felt quite different at first, but I feel like I started to get the hang of it after the first hour or so. Not quite perfect of course, but I am starting to get more of a feel of the game and I've been enjoying it so far. I've only used it for one mission, but I'm not all that much of a fan of the gyrowing yet.
Just started up the game. The first thing I did was disable the motion controls in the training level because their imposition was giving me anxiety. Corneria is looking good, anyway.

Complicated control mechanics?
This isn't monster hunter on psp.

Oh. Oh my, is it really like that? That... That actually makes it seem even more attractive now.
Yup, hyping a game for no reason. That sure sounds like me.
Wow, there are quite a few people who seem to be having a blast hating on this game. You know, without even playing it. Just dropping by to post ridiculous comments, and then leaving just as quickly.
I am really, really glad now that I didn't bother to read the comments in the review. The Miyamoto hate must've been insane, sorta not surprising that the Paper Jam/Color Splash brigade moved their tantrum on to this for the time being. When will you lot get over it?
After 2 hours I can see that it takes some getting used to but it does make for some fun gameplay. It's kind of like flying an aircraft and manning a gun turret at the same time so some multitasking is required. Saying that there's nothing like flying past a battleship whilst individually taking out its guns and then the ship itself!
The animated short with the headset being used to explain the directional lasers reminds me of modern fighter aircraft with their helmet mounted sights. All this makes me want is a VR system for the game and the ability to look and shoot!
Okay: crunched into about 50% of a playthrough. The game, after having some time to adjust, does provide an enjoyable experience. It's not flawless by any means. The Arwing feels 'nerfed' to me in terms of mobility, and the drone segments feel misplaced and slow. In my opinion, this is a passable outing as the ends more than justify the means.
Tbh I think Guard is better, I'll play more Zero more but controlling the arwing (not so much the input of the controls) isn't immersing me into the game whilst Guard has engaged me by slapping me in the face and telling to keep focus for destroying those robots and getting me to inch closer to the screen as I play.
@TheLastLugia: Looked over the last day of posts, and the only person I noticed doing that is hirobo2. I think you might be exaggerating slightly.
There has been some negativity about this game, but nothing on the scale of Color Splash or Federation Force. Probably because, at bottom, despite the weird control scheme, this is still very much a classic Star Fox game.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

In fairness Hirobo has every right to be disappointed, he was expecting a Star Wars game with all the characters replaced by cute animals and yet there's no lightsabres, no force, no Death Star, no Darth Vader and no nothing. It really is the worst Star Wars game I've ever played.
@Ralizah: Well yes on here there's much less hating going on than what I would imagine is happening on IGN, but it still sucks to see the same people/person whining about the game. I pretty much knew what that video was before I clicked on it, such is the point we're at that their routine become stale.
@arronishere: Was he expecting that, though? From his posts all I can see is that he was expecting Star Fox SNES Again Because Somehow We're Stuck In The 1990's. Unless you're joking, of course.
@TheLastLugia: one person complaining isn't bad at all. It's so much better than the comment hellzones of the review article, and now currently the controls guide...
