@TheLastLugia: Um...you do need to beat a game to understand what you're getting at here especially when it comes to RPGs. Its just that you see that many professional reviews that do it at heart and not money.
Giantbomb seems to be the lowest score in terms of review.....................So you think now might be a good idea to like Nintendolife's recent comparison article that we'll never get to see another Star Fox game even after the day that Miyamoto-san is no more?
Because he is the one that's still directing it and well, unlike the other IP that he left others in charge, Star Fox still has no one to look after besides himself.
With longer games, you'll probably know long before the end whether or not you're having fun, and can decide from there whether it's worth it to continue playing.
Beating a game does add some more credibility, but not beating doesn't void any credibility if you gave it a fair shake and saw enough.
Plus, it's possible to like a game before finishing it. The opposite holds true as well.
Yeah but what about stories? That is something mandatory in RPGs whether its Fire Emblem or Pokemon and that too counts as part of reviews if the game does have a story.
Does this mean the end of Star Fox now that Zero has lukewarm reviews? I get that reviews don't sell games but given how Star Fox hasn't been used for a long time, having a game like this not selling well means that it'll be dormant like F-Zero.......good thing we don't have to worry about FE huh?
I do think online multiplayer would've helped this game a lot. At least so it drives the conversation from the GamePad.
If Star Fox Zero had a proper online mode, that would've been the tip of the iceberg for me. I wouldn't care what anyone else says. Sadly, a lot of potential was lost not giving this game an online mode...
@Vee_Flames: I think it really depends. A Multiplayer mode like 64 probably would have been pretty boring. The All Range mode sections were pretty slow paced compared to the on-rails sections, and I am not sure what they could have done to make the Multiplayer more interesting. I guess we will never know lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan: Well, for starters include more players to it a 8 or 16-player dogfight. That alone would make things faster. You (well, Nintendo lol) could include team dogfights, too. As much as I don't like Command, I think its multiplayer mode was decent. Now just take it a step further.
What if we could customize and fine-tune our Arwings for the online mode? In fact, that's where amiibo could come into play. Amiibo could provide livery designs as well as the little upgrades here and there that almost match the theme of that character. For example, a Kirby amiibo would give the vehicles a Kirby skin, Smart Bombs with a wider blast radius and the likes. It's just going to be like Splatoon... which would have provided a lot of replay value.
@Vee_Flames: There's a good chance it would have helped in the reviews, they love themselves a good online mode or two do reviewers these days. But ultimately it all comes down to the fact that this a Nintendo game with Miyamoto as the director of it, I wouldn't be surprised if an online mode was never considered at all. Heck, even Platinum only have Bayonetta 2 for their online multiplayer credentials IIRC. You'd as soon see an online mode in Star Fox as you'd see one in a Paper Mario game. They seem to be settled in their mindset as to the potential of their IP as well as what they as developers are capable of.
Love it or hate it that's the situation as I see it. Although it of course goes without saying that there's every chance that a tacked on online mode would've been bad, just as it could've been good. Possibly even more so considering the expertise of the people making this game in reference to multiplayer.
@Vee_Flames: That would have added a lot of work and complexity to the game. The main focus for Star Fox is its single-player and adding all that content for multiplayer would basically double their work. Maybe it could have been a hit but it would have required way more development time and a bigger budget than they could have reasonably risked.

The official Sonic the hedgeghog Facebook page made this XD :
Oh so now we have SEGA insulting something innovative like Star Fox Zero now being something like Sonic quality? Lame one SEGA. I don't want to say anything negative to you SEGA but you better stay away from the IP that other devs own and make a parody of your own damn IPs.

Please tell me you're joking...just...please. It honestly feels like parody at this point.
@DefHalan: I think it comes down to taking a risk versus playing it safe. Not every risk will always pay off, but they've got enough money to experiment here and there. I think that online and local dogfights work pretty well in a Star Fox game. Although, with the complicated control setup that this game has, I'm not surprised that at least local multiplayer isn't in the game (edit: not talking about the co-op mode ofcourse).
@Octane: I think it is a better idea to wait for Star Fox Zero 2, to try to tackle Online Multiplayer. I hope there is a sequel for Star Fox Zero. Star Fox deserves more.

But SEGA shouldn't mock Star Fox like that when they know that its not like Sonic one bit.
Why even bother doing that? It makes the game now a joke instead of praising it.
I don't think they are mocking Star Fox, they are just having some fun with it. If anything they are helping draw attention to it rather than hurting it.
